Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Lead day-to-day site engineering activities including layout, setting out, survey verification, temporary works design, and supervising field construction to ensure alignment with design drawings, specifications, and tolerances.
- Prepare, review and maintain detailed construction plans, shop drawings, and as-built documentation; coordinate design updates with the design team to resolve site-driven changes and ensure constructability.

- Produce accurate quantity takeoffs and cost estimates for procurement, change orders, and progress billing; prepare and review payment applications, cost reports, and forecast to support financial control of the project.
- Oversee subcontractor performance and coordination, enforce scope compliance, review method statements and work sequences, and manage daily subcontractor communications to maintain productivity and quality standards.
- Implement and enforce site-specific Safety, Health and Environmental (SHE) programs and ensure compliance with OSHA, local regulations, and corporate safety policies; conduct safety observations, toolbox talks, and incident investigations.
- Execute quality control and assurance processes including inspection and test plans (ITPs), hold points, non-conformance reporting, and corrective action tracking to maintain adherence to contract technical requirements and industry standards.
- Lead technical problem solving for complex construction issues such as groundwater control, temporary shoring, structural sequencing, concrete placement logistics, and specialized installation methods; provide timely engineering directives and field sketches.
- Review, respond to and manage Requests for Information (RFIs) and submittals, ensuring technical accuracy, timely turnaround and documentation of approvals or revisions to avoid rework and schedule impacts.
- Coordinate utility relocations, permits, traffic control plans, and stakeholder communications with local authorities, clients, and public agencies to secure approvals and maintain positive community relations.
- Supervise materials management and site logistics including procurement tracking, material inspections, storage, and waste management to avoid delays from material shortages or quality issues.
- Establish and maintain robust document control practices—ensure that drawings, contracts, change orders, inspection reports and daily logs are current, auditable and accessible to project stakeholders.
- Perform structural calculations, load checks and field verifications for temporary works, lifting plans and equipment selection; collaborate with design engineers to develop safe and practical temporary supports or modifications.
- Deliver regular, succinct progress reports and technical briefings for clients, project managers and executive stakeholders, highlighting milestones, risks, mitigation plans and financial impacts.

- Coordinate with environmental specialists to ensure compliance with erosion control, stormwater management, hazardous materials handling and site remediation plans as required by permits and regulations.
- Support commissioning and turnover activities including final inspections, punch list management, O&M manual preparation, and training the client operations team to ensure successful project closeout.
- Conduct constructability reviews during preconstruction and design phases to identify potential design conflicts, sequencing challenges and cost-saving opportunities before site mobilization.
- Maintain and analyze site performance metrics (productivity, safety, quality, cost) and implement continuous improvement initiatives to drive higher efficiency and better project outcomes.
Required Skills & Competencies
Hard Skills (Technical)
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related discipline; professional licensure (PE, P.Eng.) preferred.
- Proficient in construction scheduling tools such as Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project for critical path analysis and resource leveling.
- Strong experience with AutoCAD and Revit/BIM for interpreting design documents, producing site drawings and coordinating multidisciplinary models.
- Proven ability to perform quantity takeoffs, cost estimating and bill of materials preparation using industry-standard estimating tools or spreadsheets.
- In-depth knowledge of construction methods for concrete, steel, mechanical, electrical and civil works, including formwork, reinforcement detailing and concrete placement strategies.

- Experience with project controls tools for cost tracking, progress measurement, earned value reporting and progress payment reconciliation.

Minimum Education:
