Primary Functions

  • Edit long-form and short-form video across platforms using industry-standard NLEs (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro), shaping pacing, rhythm, and narrative arc to maximize viewer retention and storytelling impact.

  • Collaborate with marketing and social teams to adapt creative concepts to platform-specific formats (e.g., vertical, square, short-form stories) and to implement A/B test variations that improve click-through and completion rates.
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, vendor relationships, and resource allocation for freelance crew, grip, gaffer, and post-production partners to deliver projects on time and within budget.
  • Maintain an organized media library and archive system with proper naming conventions, proxies, version control, and backups to ensure efficient retrieval and reuse of assets.
  • Translate brand messaging and campaign objectives into compelling visual narratives by working closely with creative directors, copywriters, and designers in cross-functional creative reviews.
  • Implement best practices for file formats, codecs, bitrate, LUTs, and deliverable specifications across broadcast, OTT, and digital channels to meet technical and platform requirements.
  • Lead multi-camera shoots, live switching, and program recording for events or broadcasts, ensuring sync, safe camera moves, and consistent visual continuity across angles.
  • Provide technical leadership on set, troubleshooting cameras, audio systems, lighting rigs, and power/rigging issues to minimize downtime and maintain production quality.
  • Conduct creative reviews and iterate on rough cuts with stakeholders, incorporating feedback while maintaining editorial integrity and meeting creative KPIs.
  • Design and produce brand-driven B-roll and product footage that supports ecommerce, conversion funnels, and product storytelling with attention to detail and motion continuity.
  • Scout and manage location permits, insurance, health & safety compliance, and COVID-19 / on-set protocols to protect crew and talent and minimize legal risk.
  • Train and mentor junior videographers, assistants, and editors on camera technique, editing workflows, color grading, and equipment care to raise team capability and consistency.
  • Stay current with emerging video formats, social trends, camera technology, codecs, and platform algorithm changes to propose innovative content formats and technical improvements.
