Primary Functions

  • Lead the strategic design, development, and implementation of a multi-year cultural programming calendar that includes festivals, exhibitions, performances, workshops, community events, and digital projects aligned to the organization's mission and audience goals.
  • Oversee the end-to-end production of major public programs, including concept development, artistic contracting, technical coordination, logistics, staffing, site planning, and post-event evaluation to ensure high-quality delivery.
  • Develop and manage annual program budgets, monitor expenditures, create financial forecasts, and implement cost-control strategies to meet revenue targets and maintain fiscal responsibility.

  • Cultivate and maintain strategic partnerships with artists, cultural institutions, community organizations, schools, municipal agencies, and corporate sponsors to expand program reach and resources.
  • Lead audience development and community outreach strategies, including targeted marketing, outreach to underrepresented communities, audience segmentation, ticketing strategies, and evaluation of engagement metrics.
  • Recruit, hire, supervise, mentor, and evaluate program staff, curators, producers, interns, and volunteers; build cross-functional teams and create a positive, equitable workplace culture.
  • Act as the primary liaison between artistic teams, facilities and operations, production, marketing, development, and external stakeholders to coordinate programming logistics and timeline adherence.

  • Design and run program evaluation frameworks that capture qualitative and quantitative impact metrics, audience feedback, participant demographics, and ROIs, and present findings to senior leadership and funders.
  • Drive inclusion, accessibility, and cultural equity initiatives across programming by integrating participatory models, multilingual resources, ADA-compliant practices, and culturally responsive content.
  • Manage sponsorship acquisition and corporate partnership cultivation, including preparation of sponsorship proposals, benefits packages, fulfillment, and post-event reporting to sponsors and donors.
  • Steward relationships with key artists, curators, and community leaders, developing long-term collaborations and commissioning opportunities that enhance the organization's artistic profile.
  • Oversee ticketing and registration systems, pricing strategies, box office operations, and patron services to ensure a seamless visitor experience and maximize revenue.
  • Lead long-range planning for capital needs related to programming activities, including technical upgrades, venue improvements, and rental equipment requirements in collaboration with operations.
  • Serve as the public face of the organization for program-related matters—hosting panels, speaking at community meetings, representing the institution at industry conferences, and participating in press interviews.
  • Coordinate educational and participatory programming with schools, youth organizations, and community groups to extend impact, create learning pathways, and deepen community ties.
  • Implement digital and hybrid programming strategies, including streaming, virtual events, online exhibitions, and social media activations to reach broader and remote audiences.
  • Prepare and present regular program reports, performance dashboards, and financial updates to the executive team and board committees; recommend strategic adjustments based on data and stakeholder feedback.
  • Monitor policy, regulatory, and funding environment changes affecting cultural programming and advise leadership on risk mitigation and strategic opportunities.
  • Manage vendor relationships for production, catering, security, translation, and accessibility services; coordinate scopes of work, timelines, and invoicing.
  • Oversee artist care, hospitality, travel arrangements, and rider fulfillment to ensure professional treatment and successful artistic residencies and engagements.
  • Create and maintain operational SOPs, production checklists, and post-mortem processes to drive continuous improvement and institutional knowledge retention.

Educational Background

Minimum Education:
