Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Conduct comprehensive clinical and operational assessments of dental practices, including clinical workflows, patient flow, OSHA/HIPAA compliance, infection control practices, and chairside efficiency, and deliver a prioritized improvement plan with measurable KPIs.
  • Perform detailed chart reviews and clinical audits to evaluate diagnosis accuracy, treatment planning quality, restorative standards, periodontal maintenance, endodontic and prosthetic outcomes, and to identify opportunities for reduced rework and liability.
  • Provide hands-on clinical coaching and mentoring to dentists, hygienists, and clinical staff—delivering case-based training, live or virtual mentorship, and follow-up evaluations to ensure sustained adoption of best practices.
  • Develop and implement standardized clinical protocols, treatment acceptance scripts, informed consent templates, and evidence-based clinical guidelines to improve consistency, quality, and patient safety across single or multiple locations.
  • Lead practice productivity and profitability analyses including production per provider, chair utilization, scheduling optimization, case acceptance rates, and average revenue per visit; create action plans to increase clinical throughput without compromising quality.
  • Advise on revenue cycle improvement: coding and CDT accuracy, insurance verification workflows, pre-authorizations, patient estimates, fee schedule optimization, and reduction of claim denials through training and process redesign.
  • Design and deliver continuing education workshops and in-service training on restorative techniques, implant workflows, digital dentistry (CAD/CAM), imaging interpretation (CBCT), and new materials to keep clinicians current with industry standards.
  • Oversee implementation and optimization of practice management and electronic health record (EHR) systems (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft, Open Dental, Curve Dental), including templates, clinical note standardization, and reporting setup to enable actionable analytics.
  • Guide clinical teams through case presentation strategies and patient communication techniques that improve treatment acceptance, manage expectations, and elevate patient satisfaction and retention.
  • Conduct infection control and sterilization audits, develop corrective action plans, and train staff on CDC/OSHA/ADA-compliant protocols to minimize cross-contamination risk and maintain regulatory compliance.
  • Support practice transitions such as mergers, acquisitions, or associate buy-ins by performing due diligence clinical audits, transition planning, protocol harmonization, and staff alignment to ensure continuity of care.
  • Collaborate with procurement and equipment teams to evaluate, recommend, and implement dental technologies and consumables—assessing ROI, clinical efficacy, and vendor support to modernize treatment capabilities.
  • Create and track key performance indicators (KPIs) and dashboards (production, collections, new patient growth, re-care, clinical quality metrics) and deliver regular executive summaries and strategic recommendations to practice leadership.
  • Conduct patient experience reviews, mystery patient audits, and Net Promoter Score initiatives; recommend front-desk and chairside process improvements to increase online reputation, referrals, and patient lifetime value.
  • Provide risk management guidance and support for complaint resolution, clinical incident reviews, and medico-legal documentation improvement to reduce exposure and improve defensibility of records.
  • Lead multi-site clinical standardization projects to align protocols, materials, and referral pathways across a network, ensuring quality continuity and enabling scalable training programs.
  • Advise on marketing and new patient acquisition strategies from a clinical perspective (service lines to promote, patient journey mapping, service bundling, and community outreach) to align clinical offerings with business growth targets.

Educational Background

Minimum Education:
