Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Craft compelling, clear, and conversion-focused product descriptions that highlight features, benefits, and unique selling propositions to drive sales.
  • Develop and write engaging, SEO-optimized content for category pages, landing pages, and buying guides to improve search engine rankings and guide the customer journey.
  • Conceptualize and write high-impact copy for email marketing campaigns, including promotional emails, newsletters, abandoned cart sequences, and transactional emails.
  • Research and write insightful, brand-aligned blog posts and articles that attract our target audience, establish thought leadership, and support our content marketing strategy.
  • Produce engaging and shareable copy for various social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, etc.) to build community and drive traffic to our site.
  • Collaborate closely with the marketing team to develop and maintain a comprehensive content calendar, ensuring a consistent and strategic flow of information.
  • Uphold and evolve the brand's voice and tone, ensuring consistency across all e-commerce touchpoints, from headlines and CTAs to FAQs and customer service macros.
  • Conduct thorough keyword research using tools like Ahrefs or SEMrush to identify content opportunities and ensure copy is optimized for search engine visibility.
  • Regularly review and optimize existing website and product copy to improve performance, clarity, and SEO effectiveness based on analytics and customer feedback.
  • Write persuasive scripts for product videos, promotional spots, and other multimedia content to enhance product storytelling.
  • Create persuasive copy for paid advertising campaigns, including Google Ads, social media ads, and display banners, to maximize click-through rates and return on ad spend.
  • Write and refine website microcopy (e.g., calls-to-action, form fields, error messages) to enhance user experience and streamline the path to purchase.
  • Meticulously proofread and edit all copy to ensure it is grammatically perfect, factually accurate, and adheres to brand style guidelines.
  • Work alongside product managers and designers to ensure that copy and visuals are aligned and work together to create a cohesive and powerful product narrative.
  • Analyze content performance using tools like Google Analytics, tracking key metrics such as page views, bounce rate, time on page, and conversion rates to inform future content decisions.
  • Perform A/B testing on headlines, product descriptions, email subject lines, and CTAs to identify the most effective messaging and continuously optimize for conversion.
  • Stay current with e-commerce, content marketing, and SEO best practices and trends to keep our content strategy fresh and competitive.
  • Manage and update content directly within our e-commerce platform (e.g., Shopify, BigCommerce, Magento) and CMS (e.g., WordPress).
  • Research competitor products and marketing strategies to identify gaps and opportunities for our own content and positioning.
  • Develop comprehensive FAQ sections and help-center articles that proactively address customer questions, reducing the burden on customer support.
