Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Conduct comprehensive needs analyses and learning assessments with key stakeholders to accurately identify performance gaps, define clear learning objectives, and determine the most effective training modality.
  • Act as a strategic partner and advisor to clients, providing expert recommendations on learning best practices, emerging educational technologies, and innovative instructional strategies to solve complex business problems.
  • Design and storyboard engaging, interactive, and instructionally sound e-learning modules, microlearning assets, virtual instructor-led training (VILT), and comprehensive blended learning programs.
  • Develop dynamic and sophisticated learning content using a range of authoring tools such as Articulate 360 (Storyline, Rise), Adobe Captivate, and Vyond, incorporating multimedia, simulations, and gamification elements.
  • Manage the end-to-end project lifecycle for multiple learning projects simultaneously, including scoping, resource allocation, timeline management, budget tracking, and stakeholder communication.
  • Apply adult learning theories (e.g., ADDIE, SAM, Gagne's Nine Events of Instruction, and andragogy) to create learning experiences that drive knowledge retention, skill application, and tangible behavior change.
  • Collaborate closely with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) across various departments to distill complex technical or business-specific information into clear, concise, and accessible learning content.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of learning solutions through the creation and implementation of Kirkpatrick Level 1-4 evaluation strategies, data analysis, and reporting to demonstrate ROI.
  • Design and develop facilitator guides, participant workbooks, job aids, and other performance support tools to complement digital learning and ensure successful knowledge transfer to the workplace.
  • Lead and facilitate design thinking workshops, focus groups, and brainstorming sessions with client groups to co-create innovative and user-centric learning solutions.
  • Configure, manage, and optimize Learning Management Systems (LMS) or Learning Experience Platforms (LXP) to ensure seamless course delivery, tracking, and reporting.
  • Research, pilot, and recommend new learning technologies, tools, and methodologies to continuously enhance the quality, efficiency, and impact of the organization's learning offerings.
  • Create and maintain style guides, templates, and development standards to ensure consistency, quality, and brand alignment across all learning materials.
  • Provide coaching and mentorship to junior instructional designers or developers, offering feedback and guidance to elevate the team's overall capability.
  • Develop detailed project plans and communication strategies to manage client expectations and ensure all deliverables are completed on time and within scope.
  • Design accessible (e.g., WCAG 2.1 AA compliant) learning content that accommodates learners with diverse needs and abilities, ensuring an inclusive learning environment.
  • Translate strategic business goals into a cohesive digital learning roadmap, outlining key initiatives and priorities for the upcoming quarters and year.

  • Manage relationships with external vendors, such as voice-over artists, graphic designers, or technology providers, to ensure high-quality and timely delivery of specialized services.

Required Skills & Competencies

Hard Skills (Technical)

  • Advanced Authoring Tools: Expert proficiency in Articulate 360 (Storyline, Rise), Adobe Captivate, and other rapid development tools (e.g., iSpring, Lectora).
  • LMS/LXP Administration: Hands-on experience with major Learning Management Systems or Learning Experience Platforms (e.g., Cornerstone OnDemand, Docebo, Moodle, Workday Learning).
  • Multimedia Production: Proficiency in video and audio editing software such as Camtasia, Adobe Premiere Pro, and Audacity.
  • Instructional Design Models: Deep knowledge and practical application of ADDIE, SAM, Agile, and other instructional design methodologies.
  • Learning Technologies Standards: Strong understanding of SCORM, xAPI (Tin Can), and cmi5 standards for tracking and interoperability.

Education & Experience

Educational Background

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.

Preferred Education:

  • Master's Degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Adult Learning, or a related discipline.
  • Certifications such as CPTD (Certified Professional in Talent Development) or an Instructional Design certificate are highly valued.

Experience Requirements
