Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Act as the lead official for live and online esports matches, making authoritative, real-time decisions on all gameplay-related disputes and rule interpretations.
- Proactively monitor player communications, both verbal and in-game chat, to identify and penalize any violations of the official code of conduct, including toxicity or unsportsmanlike behavior.
- Conduct comprehensive pre-match readiness checks, verifying player hardware, peripherals, and software configurations to ensure compliance with tournament regulations.
- Manage the match schedule with precision, coordinating with players, coaches, and production staff to ensure matches start on time and transitions are smooth.
- Expertly resolve in-game technical issues, including player disconnections, hardware malfunctions, and software bugs, by administering pauses and restarts according to the official rulebook.
- Serve as the primary communication link between league operations and participating teams during matches, clearly and calmly conveying official rulings and instructions.
- Meticulously document all infractions, technical pauses, and competitive rulings, creating detailed incident reports for review by senior league officials.
- Maintain the sterile competitive environment by enforcing strict rules against unauthorized software, communication devices, or any form of cheating.
- Oversee the setup and configuration of official match lobbies, ensuring all game settings (e.g., map, character selection, server settings) are accurate for the specific stage of the tournament.
- Review match VODs and player-submitted evidence to investigate claims of cheating, exploitation, or rule violations that may have occurred during gameplay.
