Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Advise multinational clients on the strategic implications and implementation of global electronic invoicing and digital tax reporting requirements across various jurisdictions.
  • Lead and manage end-to-end tax technology projects, from initial scoping and requirements gathering through to design, configuration, testing, and deployment.
  • Analyze clients' existing business processes and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) to identify compliance gaps and design solutions for automated tax compliance.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on evolving global e-tax regulations, such as SAF-T, Making Tax Digital (MTD), and real-time reporting (RTR), assessing their impact on client operations.
  • Design, configure, and test tax engine software (e.g., Vertex, Thomson Reuters ONESOURCE, Sovos) to ensure accurate indirect tax determination and reporting.
  • Facilitate client workshops and training sessions to educate tax, finance, and IT teams on new tax technology tools and digital compliance obligations.
  • Collaborate closely with client IT and finance departments to ensure seamless data extraction, transformation, and validation for tax reporting submissions.
  • Perform detailed data analytics on large transactional datasets to identify tax risks, process inefficiencies, and opportunities for financial optimization.
  • Develop comprehensive project documentation, including Business Requirement Documents (BRDs), process flow diagrams, test scripts, and solution design specifications.
  • Translate complex technical and tax regulatory concepts into clear, concise, and actionable guidance for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Review and validate tax data and reports generated from automated systems to ensure complete accuracy and compliance before submission to tax authorities.
  • Conduct tax technology readiness assessments, helping clients build a strategic roadmap for their digital tax transformation journey.
  • Manage client relationships and act as the primary point of contact for project-related communications, ensuring high levels of client satisfaction.
  • Provide post-implementation support and troubleshooting for clients' live tax technology solutions, ensuring long-term stability and success.
  • Assess the impact of major business events, such as mergers, acquisitions, or new market entries, on the client's existing tax technology landscape.

Secondary Functions

  • Support business development activities by contributing technical expertise to proposals, creating solution demonstrations, and responding to RFPs.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior consultants, reviewing their work to ensure quality and fostering their professional development within the practice.

Required Skills & Competencies

Hard Skills (Technical)

  • Deep understanding of global and regional e-invoicing and e-reporting mandates (e.g., SAF-T, SII in Spain, FatturaPA in Italy, MTD in the UK).
  • Hands-on experience with major ERP systems, particularly SAP (S/4HANA, ECC) or Oracle (NetSuite, Fusion, EBS), and their native tax functionality.
  • Proficiency in implementing or working with third-party tax engines and compliance software such as Vertex, Thomson Reuters ONESOURCE, Sovos, or Avalara.
  • Strong knowledge of indirect tax principles (VAT, GST, Sales & Use Tax) and their application in a systems environment.
  • Experience with data analytics and visualization tools like Alteryx, Power BI, or Tableau for analyzing large transactional datasets.
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall) and tools (Jira, Asana).
  • Basic to intermediate SQL skills for data querying and validation.

Education & Experience

Educational Background

Minimum Education:

Experience Requirements
