Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Develop and execute comprehensive, data-driven e-commerce strategies for key national retail accounts (e.g., Amazon, Walmart.com, Target.com) to achieve aggressive sales, profit, and market share objectives.
  • Own the full P&L for assigned e-retailer accounts, managing trade spend, promotional budgets, and operational costs to maximize return on investment (ROI).
  • Lead the annual Joint Business Planning (JBP) process with e-commerce partners, setting strategic goals and creating a detailed roadmap for promotions, media, and assortment.
  • Master the digital shelf by ensuring best-in-class product content (titles, descriptions, images, A+ content), pricing, and discoverability through continuous SEO optimization and keyword strategy.
  • Analyze complex performance data from various sources, including POS, syndicated data (Nielsen/IRI), and platform-specific analytics to generate actionable insights and drive strategic adjustments.
  • Manage and optimize retail media campaigns on platforms like Amazon Advertising, Walmart Connect, and Criteo, ensuring efficient spend and alignment with broader commercial goals.
  • Collaborate with the supply chain and operations teams to develop accurate sales forecasts, manage inventory levels, and ensure high in-stock rates to prevent lost sales.
  • Conduct deep-dive competitive analysis to monitor competitor pricing, promotions, content, and new product launches, identifying opportunities and threats in the market.
  • Partner with brand marketing teams to ensure a cohesive omnichannel brand presence and to translate brand initiatives into effective online merchandising and marketing tactics.
  • Drive a continuous test-and-learn agenda, implementing A/B tests for content, pricing, and promotional strategies to identify best practices and scale successes.
  • Manage and negotiate vendor agreements, trade terms, and co-op marketing programs with e-retailer buying and marketing teams to build strong, mutually beneficial partnerships.
  • Stay at the forefront of e-commerce trends, platform capabilities, and emerging technologies to pioneer new growth levers and maintain a competitive edge.
  • Prepare and present regular business reviews to senior leadership, clearly communicating performance, key insights, and strategic recommendations.
  • Oversee the new item setup process, ensuring that all product launches are executed flawlessly and optimized for immediate online success.
  • Develop and execute a robust promotional calendar, including strategy for tentpole events (e.g., Prime Day, Cyber 5), to drive traffic and conversion.
  • Partner with the content team to create a pipeline of high-performing digital assets tailored to the unique requirements of each e-retail platform.
  • Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for the e-commerce channel, including traffic, conversion rate, average order value, ROAS, and digital share of shelf.
  • Serve as the internal subject matter expert for your assigned accounts, educating cross-functional partners on the nuances and strategic levers of each e-retailer ecosystem.
  • Identify and troubleshoot operational and performance issues, working with internal teams and external partners to implement swift and effective solutions.
  • Lead the integration and utilization of e-commerce analytics and digital shelf monitoring tools (e.g., Profitero, Salsify, Pacvue) to automate reporting and enhance strategic capabilities.
  • Champion a customer-first mindset by analyzing customer reviews and feedback to inform product improvements, content refinements, and overall shopping experience enhancements.

  • Support ad-hoc data requests and exploratory data analysis to answer critical business questions.
  • Contribute to the organization's broader digital transformation strategy and long-term e-commerce roadmap.
  • Collaborate with business units to translate data needs into engineering requirements for improved reporting and analytics.
