Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

Actively supervise and engage with children during all indoor and outdoor activities, ensuring their safety, well-being, and active participation in planned learning experiences.
Collaborate with the Lead Teacher to implement a developmentally appropriate, play-based curriculum that fosters cognitive, social, emotional, and physical growth for each child.
Assist children with daily personal care routines, including diapering, toilet training, handwashing, and mealtimes, while promoting independence and healthy habits.
Create and maintain a clean, organized, and inviting classroom environment that is rich with materials and opportunities for exploration and learning.
Guide children in developing positive social skills and peer relationships through modeling, coaching, and implementing positive behavior management strategies.

Secondary Functions

Support the Lead Teacher in maintaining accurate classroom records, including daily attendance, meal counts, and incident/accident reports.
Actively participate in staff meetings, professional development workshops, and ongoing training to stay current with best practices in early childhood education.

Required Skills & Competencies

Hard Skills (Technical)

Pediatric First Aid and CPR Certification: Current certification is often required or must be obtained shortly after hire.

State Licensing Standards: Familiarity with the specific health, safety, and educational regulations for licensed childcare centers in your state.

Education & Experience

Educational Background

Minimum Education:

High School Diploma or GED.

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education (ECE), Child Development, or a closely related field.
