Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical control systems, wiring, and lighting in accordance with technical specifications and electrical codes.
- Read and interpret complex blueprints, technical diagrams, and schematics to determine the layout and wiring of new or existing electrical systems.
- Measure, cut, bend, thread, and professionally install various types of electrical conduit, including EMT, PVC, and Rigid, to effectively route and protect wiring.
- Skillfully pull and terminate wiring to control panels, distribution boxes, transformers, motors, and other critical electrical components.
- Mount and install a wide range of electrical equipment, such as lighting fixtures, receptacles, switches, panelboards, and circuit breakers.
- Perform comprehensive testing and inspection of electrical systems using specialized diagnostic equipment to ensure full functionality and safety.
- Utilize a variety of testing devices, including multimeters, voltmeters, ammeters, and circuit tracers, to accurately troubleshoot and diagnose electrical issues.
- Systematically identify, troubleshoot, and rectify electrical faults, system malfunctions, and potential hazards in a timely and efficient manner.
- Ensure all electrical installations, modifications, and repairs strictly adhere to the National Electrical Code (NEC) and all applicable local building regulations.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment by rigorously following all company safety policies, OSHA guidelines, and job-site-specific safety protocols.
- Collaborate effectively with general contractors, project managers, and other trade professionals to coordinate workflow and proactively resolve on-site challenges.
- Manage and maintain an accurate inventory of tools, equipment, and materials, reporting any shortages or equipment malfunctions.
- Perform precise panel terminations and new panel installations, ensuring proper load balancing and clear, accurate circuit identification.
- Install and service low-voltage systems, which may include fire alarms, security systems, and data/communication cabling infrastructure.
- Operate power tools, hand tools, and heavy equipment, such as aerial lifts and trenchers, in a safe, proficient, and responsible manner.
- Complete all required project documentation accurately and on time, including daily work reports, time logs, and as-built drawings.
- Provide practical guidance, on-the-job training, and mentorship to apprentice electricians or electrical helpers on the team.
- Actively participate in daily safety briefings ("toolbox talks") and ongoing professional training to stay current with industry best practices and code changes.
- Plan the optimal layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures based on job specifications, load calculations, and local codes.
- Perform physically demanding tasks which may include digging trenches for conduit, working in confined spaces, and operating at various heights.
Secondary Functions
- Respond to emergency and routine service calls to perform on-site troubleshooting and repairs for commercial and residential clients.
- Assist in the commissioning of new electrical systems, ensuring they meet performance and design specifications before handover.

Education & Experience
Educational Background
Minimum Education:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Completion of a recognized Electrical Apprenticeship program.

- Journeyman Electrician License/Certification.

Experience Requirements
Typical Experience Range: 2-5+ years of hands-on experience as an electrical apprentice or installer in a commercial, industrial, or residential setting.
Preferred: Documented experience as a Journeyman Electrician on diverse construction or service projects. Experience leading small crews is a plus.
