Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Develop, execute, and optimize end-to-end email marketing campaigns, including ideation, copywriting, template design, audience segmentation, A/B testing, and performance analysis.
  • Own and manage the entire email marketing calendar, coordinating with cross-functional teams like content, design, product, and sales to ensure a cohesive and strategic communication schedule.
  • Design and implement sophisticated lifecycle marketing strategies, creating automated trigger-based campaigns for customer onboarding, activation, engagement, retention, and win-back programs.
  • Build, segment, and meticulously maintain healthy email lists, focusing on database hygiene, list growth strategies, and strict compliance with global data privacy regulations like GDPR and CAN-SPAM.
  • Conduct rigorous and continuous A/B and multivariate testing on subject lines, email copy, calls-to-action (CTAs), send times, personalization, and creative layouts to continuously improve performance.
  • Analyze campaign performance and deliver actionable insights and regular, detailed reports on key metrics such as open rates, click-through rates, conversion rates, and overall channel ROI.
  • Collaborate with design and content teams to create compelling, on-brand, and high-performing email templates and content that resonate with our target audience.
  • Champion and implement advanced personalization and dynamic content strategies using customer data to enhance the user experience and drive deeper engagement.
  • Manage and serve as the subject matter expert for our marketing automation platform (e.g., HubSpot, Marketo, Salesforce Marketing Cloud), optimizing workflows and leveraging its full capabilities.
  • Define key performance indicators (KPIs) for the email channel, setting ambitious goals to drive significant revenue contribution and increase customer lifetime value (LTV).
  • Proactively monitor email deliverability and sender reputation, troubleshooting and resolving any issues to ensure optimal inbox placement and avoid blacklisting.
  • Stay at the forefront of email marketing best practices, industry trends, and emerging technologies to identify and implement innovative strategies that give us a competitive edge.
  • Partner with the data analytics team to develop deeper insights into customer behavior, create predictive models, and identify new segmentation opportunities.
  • Oversee the strategy and optimization of all transactional emails (e.g., order confirmations, password resets), ensuring they are on-brand and leveraged as engagement opportunities.
  • Champion a customer-centric approach in all communications, using data and user feedback to understand audience needs and deliver relevant, valuable content.

Secondary Functions

  • Collaborate with paid media and social media teams to create integrated, multi-channel campaigns that provide a seamless customer journey.
  • Manage and execute SMS and/or push notification campaigns as part of a broader mobile and retention marketing strategy.
  • Meticulously document all email marketing processes, test results, and strategic frameworks for organizational knowledge sharing and scalability.
  • Assist in the evaluation, selection, and implementation of new marketing technology tools related to CRM, personalization, and customer communication.
  • Provide training, mentorship, and guidance to junior marketing team members on email marketing principles and platform usage.

Required Skills & Competencies

Hard Skills (Technical)

  • Deep proficiency with at least one major Email Service Provider (ESP) or Marketing Automation Platform (e.g., Klaviyo, HubSpot, Marketo, Braze, Salesforce Marketing Cloud).
  • Strong working knowledge of HTML and CSS specifically for email template creation, customization, and troubleshooting across various email clients.
  • Proven experience with A/B testing methodologies and statistical analysis to make data-driven decisions for campaign optimization.
  • Advanced knowledge of email marketing analytics, KPIs, and reporting tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Looker, Tableau, platform-native analytics).
  • Expertise in audience segmentation, data management, and leveraging CRM data for complex personalization and dynamic content.
  • Thorough understanding of email deliverability best practices, sender reputation management, and global anti-spam regulations (CAN-SPAM, GDPR, CCPA).

Educational Background

Minimum Education:
