Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

Set up, operate, and troubleshoot industrial multi-head embroidery machines (e.g., Tajima, Barudan, Melco) to fulfill custom orders with precision and efficiency.
Interpret digital work orders and proofs to confirm design placement, thread colors, and garment specifications before production begins.
Skillfully hoop and secure a diverse range of garments, hats, bags, and other textiles to ensure design stability and accurate registration.
Select, match, and load appropriate thread colors, bobbins, and needles based on the specific requirements of each job.
Continuously monitor machine operation to detect and correct potential issues, such as thread breaks, needle breaks, or tension problems, in real-time.
Conduct rigorous in-process and post-production quality control checks to ensure all embroidered items meet company and client quality standards.
Perform final finishing tasks on completed garments, including trimming excess threads, removing backing material, steaming, folding, and packaging for shipment.
Program machine settings by loading the correct design file and inputting parameters for speed, density, and color sequence.
Efficiently manage workflow to operate multiple machines simultaneously, maximizing throughput while maintaining exceptional quality.
Maintain accurate production logs, recording quantities produced, spoilage, and machine downtime for reporting and inventory purposes.
Proactively perform routine daily and weekly machine maintenance, including cleaning, oiling, and replacing consumable parts to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
Collaborate with the sales and design teams to provide feedback on the feasibility of embroidery designs, suggesting edits for improved quality and production efficiency.
Master various hooping techniques for challenging items like structured hats, jacket sleeves, and polo plackets to achieve flawless results.
Unpack, sort, and verify incoming blank goods against packing lists to ensure order accuracy before production.

Secondary Functions

Manage and maintain inventory levels of essential embroidery supplies, including thread, backing, bobbins, and needles, and notify management when reordering is necessary.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, adhering to all company safety protocols and procedures.
Assist in other production departments, such as screen printing or heat press application, during periods of high demand or machine downtime.
Help train and mentor new or less-experienced operators on machine setup, quality standards, and departmental best practices.
Support the team in staging and sorting jobs by priority to ensure on-time delivery and meet tight deadlines.
Identify opportunities for process improvement to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance overall product quality.

Required Skills & Competencies

Hard Skills (Technical)

Proficient in operating and maintaining multi-head commercial embroidery machines (Tajima, Barudan, or similar).
Expertise in hooping techniques for a wide variety of garments, including hats, polos, jackets, and bags.
Strong knowledge of thread types, backing materials, and needle selection for different fabrics.
