Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Act as the primary technical advisor and subject matter expert for clients, providing strategic guidance on engineering design, technology implementation, and process optimization.
  • Lead the end-to-end management of complex engineering projects, including defining scope, creating detailed project plans, managing budgets, and ensuring timely delivery of milestones.
  • Conduct comprehensive feasibility studies, technical assessments, and site investigations to evaluate project viability, identify potential risks, and inform strategic decision-making.
  • Develop and present compelling technical reports, business cases, and project proposals to a wide range of stakeholders, including C-level executives, investors, and technical teams.
  • Translate client business requirements into detailed functional specifications and robust engineering designs, ensuring alignment between technical solutions and business outcomes.
  • Perform in-depth technical analysis, modeling, and simulation to validate design concepts, troubleshoot complex issues, and optimize system performance.
  • Ensure all project activities and deliverables strictly adhere to relevant industry codes, safety standards (e.g., ISO, ASME, IEEE), and government regulations.
  • Manage and coordinate multi-disciplinary teams of engineers, designers, and contractors, fostering a collaborative environment to achieve project goals.
  • Facilitate client workshops, stakeholder meetings, and design review sessions to ensure clear communication and consensus throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies, materials, and methodologies that can enhance project efficiency, reduce costs, and deliver superior value to the client.
  • Prepare and review detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and contract documents to ensure accuracy, completeness, and clarity.
  • Provide expert witness testimony, technical due diligence, and failure analysis for legal, insurance, or investment-related matters.
  • Develop and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients, positioning yourself as their go-to expert for future engineering and technical challenges.
  • Mentor and develop junior engineers and technical staff, sharing knowledge and fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee the procurement, installation, and commissioning of equipment and systems, ensuring they meet design specifications and operational requirements.

Required Skills & Competencies

Hard Skills (Technical)

  • Advanced Technical Analysis & Modeling: Proficiency in using simulation and analysis software relevant to your discipline (e.g., ANSYS, MATLAB/Simulink, ETAP, HEC-RAS).
  • CAD/CAE Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of computer-aided design and engineering software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Revit, or similar platforms.
  • Project Management Methodologies: Demonstrated experience with formal project management frameworks like PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile/Scrum.
