Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Design, develop, and implement a diverse and engaging curriculum for enrichment activities, ensuring alignment with program goals and age-appropriateness for K-8 students.
- Facilitate dynamic, hands-on learning experiences for small and large groups, skillfully adapting instructional strategies to accommodate diverse learning styles, abilities, and interests.
- Establish and consistently maintain a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment by implementing effective positive behavior management strategies and fostering a culture of respect and collaboration.
- Act as a positive role model and mentor for students, building strong, supportive relationships to encourage personal growth, self-esteem, and social-emotional well-being.
- Proactively and professionally communicate with parents and guardians regarding program activities, student progress, and any behavioral or developmental concerns to foster a strong home-school partnership.
- Monitor, assess, and document student participation, skill development, and social-emotional growth, providing constructive feedback to students and regular updates to program leadership.
- Manage all classroom and activity logistics, including the preparation of materials, organization of supplies, and ensuring the proper setup and cleanup of program spaces.
- Guide students in developing critical life skills such as problem-solving, teamwork, communication, and conflict resolution through structured activities and teachable moments.
- Collaborate effectively with school-day teachers, administrators, and other staff to align enrichment programming with academic objectives and support individual student needs.
- Ensure the physical and emotional safety of all participants at all times by adhering to safety protocols, supervising students closely, and responding appropriately to incidents.
- Lead and supervise students during various program components, including academic support/homework help, recreational play, and structured enrichment lessons.
- Plan and execute special projects, events, or showcases that allow students to demonstrate their learning and celebrate their achievements with the broader community.
- Foster a sense of belonging and community among students, creating a welcoming atmosphere where every child feels valued and supported.
- Implement Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) concepts and activities into daily programming to help students develop self-awareness, self-management, and relationship skills.
- Maintain accurate and timely program records, including daily attendance, incident reports, and progress notes, in compliance with organizational and licensing standards.
Secondary Functions
- Participate actively in mandatory staff meetings, professional development workshops, and coaching sessions to enhance instructional skills and program quality.
- Assist the Program Coordinator or Site Director with administrative tasks, such as student enrollment, supply inventory, and communicating program updates to families.
- Support the planning and supervision of students during field trips, ensuring a safe and enriching experience for all participants.
- Engage in community outreach and recruitment efforts to promote the enrichment program and attract new participants.
- Uphold and enforce all policies and procedures of the organization and the host site, including health, safety, and emergency protocols.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of the program by providing feedback, sharing innovative ideas, and collaborating on new curriculum development.

Education & Experience
Educational Background
Minimum Education:
