Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Receive, unload, inspect, and accurately process all incoming equipment shipments and returns.
  • Perform detailed functional and cosmetic inspections on all equipment to identify damage, malfunctions, and repair requirements.
  • Meticulously clean, test, and perform preventative maintenance on a wide range of company equipment to ensure peak performance and longevity.
  • Accurately record and maintain all equipment data, including status, maintenance history, and repair logs, within our inventory management system.
  • Prepare, stage, and securely package equipment for outbound shipping, delivery, or client pickup, ensuring all components are present.
  • Manage the physical inventory of equipment, parts, and accessories through regular cycle counts and periodic full physical audits.
  • Safely operate material handling equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks, to organize the warehouse and move assets.
  • Update the asset tracking system in real-time to reflect the precise location, status, and user assignment for every piece of equipment.
  • Process and manage work orders for equipment preparation, maintenance, and both internal and external repairs.
  • Ensure all equipment is fully compliant with company quality control standards and industry safety regulations before being dispatched.
  • Load and unload equipment from various vehicles, ensuring it is properly secured for safe transportation.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose basic equipment failures, performing minor repairs and adjustments to minimize downtime.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and highly organized equipment storage area, warehouse, and workshop.
  • Fulfill equipment requests from internal departments and field teams, coordinating logistics to ensure timely availability.
  • Communicate effectively with operations, sales, and service teams regarding equipment availability, readiness, and potential delays.

Secondary Functions

  • Assist in training new team members on standard operating procedures, equipment handling, and safety protocols.
  • Proactively identify and recommend process improvements related to equipment flow, storage, and maintenance efficiency.
  • Support the logistics team in coordinating complex equipment deliveries and retrievals.
  • Collaborate with the procurement team to order necessary replacement parts, tools, and consumable supplies.
  • Generate reports on equipment utilization, repair trends, and inventory levels to support operational planning.

Required Skills & Competencies

Hard Skills (Technical)

  • Inventory Management Software: Proficiency in using asset tracking or inventory management systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, or similar platforms).
  • Mechanical Aptitude: Strong ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and perform basic repairs on mechanical and/or electronic equipment.
  • Material Handling: Certified and experienced in operating a forklift; proficient with pallet jacks and other warehouse equipment.
  • Data Entry: High level of accuracy and speed in data entry and record-keeping.
  • MS Office Suite: Competency with Microsoft Excel for tracking and reporting, as well as Outlook and Word.
  • Safety Compliance: In-depth knowledge of workplace safety standards and OSHA regulations.

Education & Experience

Educational Background

Minimum Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

Preferred Education:

  • Associate's Degree or a certificate from a technical/trade school.

Experience Requirements

Typical Experience Range: 1-3 years of relevant experience in an equipment rental, logistics, warehouse, or similar environment.

Preferred: Experience in an industry with a heavy reliance on specialized equipment (e.g., construction, medical, event production, or telecommunications). A proven track record of hands-on maintenance and inventory control is highly desirable.
