Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Travel to customer facilities nationwide and/or locally to perform on-site installation, commissioning, and validation of complex mechanical and electronic equipment.
- Read, interpret, and execute tasks based on complex technical documentation, including blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and installation manuals.
- Conduct pre-installation site surveys and assessments to verify that all environmental, electrical, and physical requirements are met, identifying and resolving any potential site-related issues.
- Unpack, assemble, and physically install large-scale equipment, utilizing a wide range of hand tools, power tools, and material handling equipment like forklifts and pallet jacks.
- Perform precise system calibration, configuration, and functional testing to ensure the equipment operates flawlessly and meets all manufacturer and customer performance specifications.
- Provide comprehensive, on-site training to end-users, operators, and maintenance personnel on proper equipment operation, routine maintenance procedures, and critical safety protocols.
- Independently troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve complex electromechanical, software, or networking issues that arise during the installation and start-up process.
- Meticulously complete and submit detailed service reports, installation checklists, site logs, and expense reports in a timely manner using company software (CRM/FSM).
- Manage and maintain an inventory of tools, replacement parts, and installation materials, ensuring all assets are in good working condition and accounted for.
- Adhere strictly to all company, customer, and industry safety standards, including OSHA regulations, lock-out/tag-out (LOTO) procedures, and use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Collaborate effectively with project managers, sales representatives, and logistics teams to coordinate installation schedules and ensure a seamless, on-time project delivery.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism and deliver exceptional customer service, acting as the primary company representative on-site and communicating project status effectively.
- Perform system upgrades, hardware retrofits, and software updates on existing equipment as directed by engineering change orders or new service contracts.
- Decommission, dismantle, and remove old or obsolete equipment from customer sites in a safe, clean, and efficient manner.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area at the customer site, ensuring all debris and packing materials are disposed of properly upon project completion.
- Manage all aspects of business travel, including booking flights, hotels, and rental cars, in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
- Lift, carry, and maneuver heavy components and equipment, often weighing more than 50 pounds, with and without the use of assistance or lifting equipment.
- Run, terminate, and test low-voltage control wiring, data cabling (Ethernet), and various connectivity components as part of the system integration.
- Interface with third-party on-site contractors, such as electricians and plumbers, to ensure site preparations are completed according to our specifications.
- Provide detailed written and verbal feedback to the engineering and quality assurance teams regarding product performance, installation challenges, and opportunities for improvement.
Secondary Functions
- Identify and report on sales opportunities for additional services, system upgrades, or consumables while interacting with customers on-site.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of installation processes and technical documentation by providing insights from field experience.
- Assist in the development and refinement of training materials for new technicians and customers.

Required Skills & Competencies
Hard Skills (Technical)
- Mechanical & Electrical Aptitude: Strong proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment such as multimeters.
