Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Execute the complete load-in and load-out of all event equipment, including staging, audio/visual gear, lighting, furniture, and decor from trucks and storage.
- Meticulously assemble and arrange event infrastructure, such as stages, trussing, backdrops, and pipe and drape, according to detailed floor plans and technical schematics.
- Carefully set up tables, chairs, linens, and other furnishings to match event layouts, ensuring perfect alignment and presentation for guests.
- Assist audio, video, and lighting technicians with running, securing, and taping down cables to create a safe, trip-free environment for all attendees and staff.
- Handle and transport delicate and heavy equipment using appropriate gear like dollies, hand trucks, and carts, ensuring no damage to equipment or a venue property.
- Collaborate with the team during event execution to facilitate scene changes, rearrange furniture, or adjust setups as directed by the Event Manager or client.
- Perform the complete breakdown (strike) of all event elements post-event, ensuring all items are properly disassembled, packed, and accounted for.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism and a positive attitude while interacting with clients, guests, vendors, and venue staff on-site.
- Proactively identify and report any potential safety hazards, equipment malfunctions, or operational issues to the Crew Lead or Event Manager immediately.
- Adhere strictly to all workplace safety standards, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe lifting techniques.
- Manage and organize inventory of event assets, conducting pre- and post-event checks to ensure all equipment is returned and in good working order.
- Provide general on-site support, which may include assisting with registration, directing guest traffic, or managing queues as needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work environment, both in the warehouse and on the event site, before, during, and after the event.
- Operate basic hand and power tools for assembly and disassembly of custom-built event structures and scenic elements.
- Assist in the installation of event signage, banners, and other branding materials, ensuring they are placed correctly and securely.
- Work collaboratively and communicate effectively within a fast-paced team environment to meet tight deadlines and overcome logistical challenges.
- Prepare and load event trucks, ensuring equipment is packed logically and securely for safe transport to and from the venue.
- Provide hands-on support for trade show booths, including flooring installation, exhibit assembly, and graphics placement.
- Respond with flexibility and a problem-solving mindset to last-minute changes and unexpected requests that arise during live events.

Secondary Functions
- Perform basic maintenance and cleaning of event equipment and inventory in the warehouse during non-event periods.

Required Skills & Competencies
Hard Skills (Technical)
- Physical Strength & Stamina: Ability to consistently lift and move heavy objects (50+ lbs) and remain on your feet for extended periods.
- Tool Proficiency: Familiarity with the safe and effective use of basic hand tools (wrenches, screwdrivers) and power tools (drills, saws).
- Spatial Awareness: Strong ability to read and interpret floor plans, diagrams, and setup instructions accurately.
- Logistical Acumen: Experience with loading/unloading trucks and packing equipment in a safe and organized manner.
- Basic A/V Knowledge: Understanding of how to handle and connect basic audio, video, and lighting components like cables, speakers, and simple lighting fixtures.
- Equipment Operation: Experience operating dollies, hand trucks, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment is a plus.

Minimum Education:

Typical Experience Range: 0 - 3 years
