Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Act as a strategic partner and thought leader to the executive, providing analytical support and data-driven recommendations on key business initiatives.
  • Prepare, design, and deliver high-impact presentations, comprehensive reports, and briefing materials for executive leadership team meetings, Board of Directors meetings, and external stakeholder engagements.
  • Conduct in-depth quantitative and qualitative analysis of business performance, market trends, and the competitive landscape to generate actionable insights and inform strategic direction.
  • Lead and manage critical, cross-functional special projects and strategic initiatives from conception through to successful completion, ensuring alignment with executive priorities and timelines.
  • Serve as the primary liaison and communication bridge between the executive's office and internal/external stakeholders, ensuring clarity, consistency, and alignment in all messaging.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement, operational efficiency, and business growth, and develop compelling proposals and business cases to address them.
  • Develop, maintain, and refine complex financial models and business intelligence dashboards to track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and support strategic decision-making.
  • Synthesize large volumes of information and complex data from various sources into concise, digestible summaries, and narratives for executive review and action.
  • Manage the cadence, agenda, and follow-up for executive leadership team meetings, ensuring materials are prepared in advance, discussions are productive, and action items are tracked to completion.
  • Research and prepare detailed background information, data points, and talking points for the executive's internal town halls, external speaking engagements, and media appearances.
  • Monitor progress on key organizational goals and strategic initiatives, proactively identifying and flagging risks, dependencies, and roadblocks to the executive team.
  • Facilitate effective and efficient decision-making processes by providing thorough analysis, outlining potential options, and clearly articulating trade-offs and recommendations.
  • Draft and ghostwrite critical internal and external communications, including company-wide announcements, investor updates, and strategic memos, on behalf of the executive.
  • Handle highly confidential and sensitive information related to strategy, personnel, and financials with the utmost discretion, integrity, and professionalism.
  • Act as a trusted proxy for the executive in select meetings, accurately representing their viewpoint, capturing key takeaways, and driving follow-through.

Secondary Functions

  • Support ad-hoc data requests and exploratory data analysis to answer pressing business questions from leadership.
  • Contribute to the organization's data strategy and roadmap by identifying gaps and opportunities for improved data capture and analysis.
  • Collaborate with business units to translate their strategic data needs into technical requirements for our data engineering and BI teams.
  • Participate in sprint planning and agile ceremonies within the data and analytics teams to ensure alignment with executive priorities.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key leaders and individual contributors across the organization to foster collaboration and build organizational trust.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of executive off-sites, annual strategic planning sessions, and other major leadership events.
  • Track and report on the budget and resource allocation for the executive office and key strategic projects.

Required Skills & Competencies

Hard Skills (Technical)

  • Advanced Data Analysis & Modeling: Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets, including financial modeling, pivot tables, complex formulas, and scenario analysis.
  • Executive-Level Presentation: Mastery of presentation software (PowerPoint, Google Slides) to craft compelling, data-driven narratives for a senior audience.
  • Business Intelligence & Visualization: Hands-on experience with BI tools like Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or similar platforms to create insightful and intuitive dashboards.
  • Database Querying: Proficiency in SQL for extracting, manipulating, and aggregating data from relational databases.
  • Project Management Tools: Familiarity with modern project and work management software such as Asana, Jira, Trello, or Smartsheet.
  • Strong Business & Financial Acumen: Deep understanding of financial statements, business metrics (CAC, LTV, Churn), and corporate finance principles.

Education & Experience

Educational Background

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university.
