Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Conduct thorough and detailed inspections of residential and commercial structures to identify existing pest issues, assess the extent of infestations, and locate potential entry points and contributing conditions.
- Accurately identify a wide range of common pests, including insects, arachnids, rodents, and wildlife, to determine the most appropriate and effective treatment strategy.
- Develop customized pest management plans for clients based on inspection findings, utilizing Integrated Pest Management (IPM) principles that prioritize non-chemical solutions first.
- Apply pesticides, baits, traps, and other control agents safely and effectively in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as company safety protocols.
- Perform exclusion services, such as sealing cracks, gaps, and other entry points in a building's foundation and exterior to prevent future pest invasions.
- Operate and maintain a variety of pest control equipment, including sprayers, dusters, foggers, and bait guns, ensuring they are in safe and proper working order.
- Educate clients on their specific pest issues, explaining the treatment plan, outlining expected results, and providing preventative recommendations to help them maintain a pest-free environment.
- Meticulously document all services performed, including areas treated, chemicals used, amounts applied, and any observations or recommendations, using a handheld device or paper forms.
- Manage a daily route of scheduled service appointments efficiently, ensuring on-time arrivals and effective time management to complete all assigned tasks.
- Proactively identify and propose additional services or solutions to clients that could benefit their property, such as moisture control or wildlife exclusion.
- Install and maintain pest monitoring stations and traps, regularly checking them to gauge pest activity and measure the effectiveness of the treatment plan.
- Prepare and submit clear and concise service reports to clients and the office at the end of each visit, ensuring all information is accurate and complete.
- Maintain a professional and clean appearance, including a clean vehicle and uniform, to represent the company in a positive light at all times.
- Drive a company vehicle safely and courteously, adhering to all traffic laws and company driving policies.
- Address and resolve customer concerns or complaints in a professional manner, escalating complex issues to a supervisor when necessary.
- Stay current on the latest industry trends, new products, treatment techniques, and changes in pest control regulations through continuous training and self-study.
- Perform follow-up visits as required to ensure the pest problem has been fully resolved and the client is satisfied with the service.
- Handle and mix chemical solutions according to specific label instructions and safety data sheets (SDS) to ensure personal and environmental safety.
- Work in various environmental conditions and spaces, which may include attics, crawlspaces, basements, and outdoor areas in all weather.
- Build and nurture long-term relationships with clients, establishing trust and positioning yourself as their go-to expert for all pest-related matters.
- Advise clients on sanitation, housekeeping, and structural modifications that can help reduce the likelihood of future pest problems.
