Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Conduct comprehensive on-farm assessments to evaluate all aspects of the operation, including crop health, soil conditions, livestock welfare, infrastructure, and management practices.
  • Develop and implement bespoke, strategic farm business plans focused on maximizing profitability, operational efficiency, and long-term sustainability.
  • Provide expert agronomic advice on crop selection, rotation schedules, planting densities, fertilization programs, and irrigation management.
  • Analyze complex farm financial data, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow projections, to provide clear business insights and recommendations.
  • Advise clients on effective pest, disease, and weed control strategies, integrating Integrated Pest Management (IPM) principles.
  • Guide farmers through the complexities of government agricultural programs, environmental regulations, and subsidy applications to ensure compliance and maximize benefits.
  • Stay at the forefront of agricultural innovation, advising on the adoption and integration of AgriTech, precision farming tools (GPS, GIS, drones), and farm management software.
  • Prepare detailed budgets, financial forecasts, and sensitivity analyses to support strategic decision-making and applications for loans or grants.
  • Facilitate long-term business and succession planning for farm families and agricultural enterprises, ensuring a smooth transition between generations.
  • Research and analyze commodity market trends, pricing, and outlooks to inform clients' marketing and sales strategies.
  • Author comprehensive technical reports, environmental impact statements, and business proposals for clients, financial institutions, and regulatory agencies.
  • Actively build and manage a diverse portfolio of clients through networking, marketing, and delivering exceptional service and results.
  • Design and deliver educational workshops, field days, and training sessions for farmers on topics such as soil health, financial literacy, and sustainable practices.
  • Provide specialized guidance on livestock management, including nutrition planning, breeding strategies, animal health protocols, and welfare improvements.
  • Identify and evaluate opportunities for farm diversification, such as organic conversion, agritourism ventures, renewable energy production, or specialty crop cultivation.
  • Coordinate and interpret soil, water, and plant tissue sample analyses to create precise nutrient management and soil amendment plans.
  • Assess the efficiency of farm machinery and equipment fleets, providing recommendations for maintenance, upgrades, or new technology investments.
  • Assist clients in preparing compelling grant applications and securing funding for capital improvements, research, or innovative projects.
  • Develop robust risk management plans to mitigate the impacts of climate variability, market volatility, policy changes, and other external factors.
  • Serve as the primary relationship manager for clients, fostering trust and acting as a long-term strategic partner in their success.
  • Evaluate and recommend sustainable and regenerative farming techniques to improve soil health, enhance biodiversity, and promote carbon sequestration.
  • Liaise with a broad network of industry stakeholders, including suppliers, veterinarians, researchers, and government agents, on behalf of clients.

Required Skills & Competencies
