Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

Operate heavy and light farm machinery, including tractors, combines, balers, plows, and sprayers for tilling, planting, cultivating, and harvesting crops.
Perform a variety of tasks related to crop cultivation, such as planting seeds, transplanting seedlings, weeding, thinning, and applying fertilizers.
Monitor and manage irrigation systems, including setting up, moving, and repairing pipes, sprinklers, and drip lines to ensure crops receive adequate water.
Harvest, inspect, sort, grade, and pack fruits, vegetables, and other field crops according to strict quality and size specifications.
Care for livestock by providing feed and water, cleaning stalls and enclosures, monitoring animal health, and reporting any signs of illness or injury.
Assist with herding and moving livestock between pastures or to and from barns and loading chutes.
Prepare fields and soil for planting by clearing rocks and debris, plowing, disking, and applying soil amendments.
Load and unload trucks with agricultural products, farm supplies, animal feed, and heavy equipment.
Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on farm machinery, vehicles, and equipment to ensure they are in good working order.
Construct, maintain, and repair farm structures such as fences, gates, barns, sheds, and irrigation systems.
