Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Conceptualize, pitch, and execute a high volume of original, engaging fashion content, including market roundups, trend reports, designer interviews, personal essays, and shopping guides.
- Write and top-edit fashion news, features, and evergreen articles, ensuring all content is accurate, on-brand, and optimized for both search engines (SEO) and user engagement.
- Develop and manage the daily and long-term fashion editorial calendar, aligning content with seasonal trends, key industry events (like Fashion Week), and commercial initiatives.
- Ideate, style, and creatively direct original photoshoots for digital and/or print, managing everything from concept and model casting to on-set execution and final image selection.
- Stay relentlessly ahead of the curve on emerging designers, micro and macro trends, and shifts in the fashion industry to ensure content is fresh, authoritative, and forward-thinking.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with a network of fashion designers, brand representatives, public relations agents, and industry insiders to secure exclusives and market access.
- Represent the brand at national and international fashion weeks, press previews, industry events, and on panels, acting as a key ambassador for our publication.
- Oversee all market work, including scouring online retailers and making requests for product samples for photoshoots and "get the look" features.
- Collaborate closely with social media and video teams to develop platform-specific fashion content and translate editorial stories into compelling visual narratives.
- Utilize analytics tools (like Google Analytics, Chartbeat) to monitor content performance, identify key insights, and pivot strategy to maximize traffic, engagement, and audience growth.
- Commission and edit stories from freelance writers, managing assignments, deadlines, and invoices to supplement in-house content creation.
- Uphold and evolve the brand's voice, tone, and visual aesthetic across all fashion content, ensuring consistency and a high standard of quality.
- Work in tandem with the commerce and affiliate teams to seamlessly integrate shopping links and product recommendations, driving revenue without compromising editorial integrity.
- Discover and champion new talent, including models, photographers, stylists, and designers, to feature across our platforms.
- Manage the complete lifecycle of fashion stories, from initial idea through writing, editing, art direction, and final publication on the CMS.

- Contribute to and potentially host video series, Instagram takeovers, and other on-camera or live-format content.
- Mentor junior editors and assistants, providing constructive feedback and guidance to foster their professional development within the team.
