Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Conceptualize, develop, and execute styling for seasonal campaigns, e-commerce photoshoots, and editorial features that align with the creative director's vision and overarching brand guidelines.
  • Conduct in-depth trend research and market analysis to identify key seasonal styles, color palettes, fabrics, and silhouettes, translating insights into compelling and commercially viable looks.
  • Create detailed digital mood boards, storyboards, and styling presentations to effectively communicate the visual direction to cross-functional partners, including photographers, hair and makeup artists, and marketing teams.
  • Source and procure all necessary wardrobe, accessories, footwear, and props for photoshoots, expertly managing relationships with brands, PR agencies, and designer showrooms to secure samples.
  • Style models on-set for a high volume of diverse media, including e-commerce product detail pages (PDP), lookbooks, social media content, and video shoots, ensuring all looks are perfectly fitted, presented, and on-brand.
  • Collaborate intensively with photographers and art directors during photoshoots to guarantee that the styling effectively complements the lighting, composition, and overall creative narrative of the shot.
  • Manage the entire wardrobe lifecycle for photo and video shoots, including meticulous sample trafficking, digital inventory management, on-set organization, and the timely, professional return of all borrowed items.
  • Provide expert on-set direction for model posing and expression to best showcase garment features, drape, movement, and functionality, resulting in dynamic and engaging final assets.
  • Maintain, build, and meticulously organize the studio's style closet, curating a comprehensive inventory of core basics, statement accessories, and versatile props to facilitate efficient and creative shoot preparation.
  • Partner with buying and merchandising teams to understand product priorities, key investments, and new arrivals, ensuring hero products are prominently and attractively featured in all visual content.
  • Execute personal styling appointments for VIP clients, providing personalized wardrobe consultations, fittings, and shopping services to drive sales, foster loyalty, and gather valuable customer feedback.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive brand style guides and visual merchandising directives for both online and in-store presentation to ensure a consistent and elevated brand experience across all channels.
  • Manage styling budgets for individual projects and the overall department, diligently tracking all expenses related to wardrobe purchases, rentals, shipping, and supplies to ensure projects are completed within financial parameters.
  • Work closely with post-production and retouching teams to provide detailed notes on image selection and necessary edits, ensuring the final assets accurately reflect the intended styling and garment details.
  • Build, nurture, and leverage a strong network of industry contacts, including designers, brand representatives, model agencies, and other creative professionals to support sourcing and collaboration.
  • Stay relentlessly ahead of emerging fashion trends, underground subcultures, and competitor activities to consistently bring fresh, innovative, and forward-thinking ideas to every project.
  • Style and prepare complete looks for special events, press appearances, and celebrity or influencer dressing opportunities, ensuring the brand is represented flawlessly in the public eye.
  • Uphold an exceptional level of quality control on set, paying meticulous attention to every detail from perfect garment steaming and fit adjustments to the final composition of the shot.
  • Train, mentor, and supervise junior stylists and fashion assistants, delegating tasks effectively and providing constructive feedback to foster their professional growth and build a strong team.
  • Analyze the performance of styled imagery and creative content, using data, A/B testing results, and customer feedback to refine future styling strategies and improve commercial effectiveness.
  • Diligently prepare and pack all merchandise, styling kits, and equipment for on-location shoots, anticipating all potential styling needs and logistical challenges to ensure a smooth production.
  • Act as the primary on-set authority and point of contact for all styling-related inquiries, efficiently and creatively resolving any wardrobe malfunctions or issues that arise during production.

  • Assist the creative team in casting models whose look, feel, and energy align with the brand's identity and the specific project's creative direction.
  • Contribute creative concepts for social media content, such as behind-the-scenes footage, "Get the Look" features, and styling tip videos.

  • Participate in select product design and development meetings, offering valuable insights on fashion trends, wearability, and outfitting potential from a stylist's perspective.

Required Skills & Competencies

Hard Skills (Technical)

  • Deep and current knowledge of fashion history, contemporary and luxury designers, and emerging global fashion trends.
  • Exceptional understanding of color theory, fabric types, garment construction, and how to create flattering silhouettes for diverse body types.
  • Proficiency in creating compelling digital mood boards and presentations using tools like Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign), Canva, or similar platforms.
  • Masterful on-set styling techniques, including expert pinning, clamping, stuffing, and steaming for a perfect fit on-model, on-mannequin, and in flat-lay photography.
  • Proven experience with sample trafficking, inventory management software, and maintaining a meticulously organized style archive.
  • Strong foundational understanding of studio photography principles, lighting techniques, and how they interact with different fabrics, textures, and colors.
  • Competency with project management tools (e.g., Asana, Trello) and Mac OS/G-Suite.

Education & Experience

Educational Background

Minimum Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; a Certificate or Diploma in Fashion Styling, Fashion Merchandising, or a related creative field is a strong asset.
