Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Safely operate a personal or company-provided vehicle to deliver food orders to various customer locations within a designated delivery area, strictly adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
  • Utilize navigation apps and local knowledge to plan and follow the most efficient routes for timely deliveries, ensuring food remains at an optimal temperature.
  • Provide exceptional and friendly customer service upon delivery, greeting customers warmly, confirming their order, and representing the company in a professional and positive manner.
  • Handle customer payments accurately, including processing credit/debit card transactions and making correct change for cash payments.
  • Meticulously verify the contents of each order against the customer's receipt before leaving the restaurant to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Maintain constant communication with the restaurant dispatch or management team regarding delivery status, delays, or any customer issues that may arise.
  • Load and unload delivery orders from the vehicle, handling all food and beverage items with care to prevent spills, damage, or contamination.
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, checking fuel levels, tire pressure, and lights to ensure the vehicle is safe and operational for every shift.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the delivery vehicle, including the use of approved insulated bags to uphold food safety and quality standards.
  • Manage and account for a cash bank throughout the shift, ensuring all transactions are recorded and balanced accurately at the end of the day.
  • Address and resolve customer inquiries or minor complaints at the point of delivery with patience and professionalism, escalating complex issues to management when necessary.
  • Collect customer signatures or other forms of delivery verification as required by company policy.
  • Adhere to all food safety and sanitation guidelines during the handling and transport of products.
  • Effectively manage time and prioritize deliveries during peak hours to meet or exceed estimated delivery times.
  • Assist with order-taking over the phone or at the counter when not actively on a delivery run.
  • Contribute to a positive team environment by communicating effectively with kitchen staff, counter help, and management.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures, including those related to safety, uniform, and professional conduct.
  • Proactively learn menu items, daily specials, and promotional offers to answer customer questions accurately.
  • Assist in assembling and packaging delivery orders, ensuring all necessary condiments, utensils, and promotional materials are included.
  • Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system to check out orders, process payments, and clock in/out for shifts and deliveries.
  • Maintain a clean and valid driver’s license, a satisfactory driving record, and the legally required level of vehicle insurance.

  • Assist with light in-store duties during non-peak hours, such as folding boxes, restocking beverage stations, and stocking delivery supplies.
  • Support general restaurant cleanliness by sweeping floors, wiping down surfaces, and emptying trash as needed.

  • Valid Driver's License: A current, non-expired state-issued driver's license is mandatory.

  • Navigation & GPS Proficiency: Ability to effectively use smartphone apps like Google Maps, Waze, or internal delivery software to find locations efficiently.
  • Basic Math Skills: Competency in performing quick calculations for making change and reconciling cash transactions.
  • Vehicle Operation: Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle in various traffic conditions and all types of weather.
  • Smartphone Literacy: Comfortable using a smartphone for communication, navigation, and order management applications.
