Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Execute comprehensive access control procedures, meticulously verifying identification and credentials for all employees, visitors, and contractors to prevent unauthorized entry.
- Conduct thorough screening of personnel, packages, and vehicles using advanced equipment such as X-ray machines, magnetometers, and handheld metal detectors.
- Perform regular and unpredictable interior and exterior patrols by foot and vehicle to deter, detect, and report security breaches, safety hazards, and suspicious activities.
- Maintain a detailed and accurate daily activity log, documenting all security-related incidents, patrols, and observations in accordance with contractual and federal requirements.
- Respond swiftly and effectively to a variety of emergencies, including medical incidents, security alarms, fires, and active threats, and provide initial support until first responders arrive.
- Enforce federal laws, rules, and regulations applicable to the assigned facility, issuing citations and making detentions as authorized by post orders and legal statutes.
- Operate and monitor complex, integrated security systems, including Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV), intrusion detection alarms, and public address systems.
- Prepare clear, concise, and professional incident reports for any event that disrupts the normal operations or security posture of the facility.
- Serve as a visible security presence, providing courteous and professional assistance, information, and directions to federal employees and the public.
- Maintain strict control over government-issued keys, access cards, and other sensitive security assets.
- Conduct physical security checks of building perimeters, access points, and restricted areas to ensure all security measures are intact and functional.
- Maintain proficiency and readiness with all assigned equipment, including firearms (if armed), communication devices, and less-lethal tools, through regular training and qualifications.
- Effectively de-escalate volatile situations and resolve conflicts using approved communication techniques and tactical judgment.
Secondary Functions
- Support ad-hoc security assessments and vulnerability checks by providing operational insights from the field.
- Contribute to the refinement of Post Orders and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) by providing practical feedback to management.
- Collaborate with federal agency clients and various law enforcement entities (local, state, federal) to ensure a coordinated and effective security response.
- Participate in mandatory and specialized training sessions, readiness drills, and scenario-based exercises to maintain a high state of operational preparedness.
- Assist in crowd control and management during special events, protests, or emergency evacuations.
- Provide security escorts for personnel, visitors, or sensitive materials as directed by supervisory staff.
- Perform traffic control duties on federal property to ensure the safe and orderly flow of vehicles and pedestrians.
- Administer First Aid, CPR, and AED in medical emergencies, acting as a critical first-level responder.
- Secure and protect potential crime scenes, preserving evidence until it can be relinquished to the proper investigative authorities.

Education & Experience
Educational Background
Minimum Education:
- High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED).
- Completion of a certified state or federal law enforcement, military police, or armed security academy.

Experience Requirements
Typical Experience Range:
