Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Proactively greet, engage, and provide exceptional customer service to all guests, visitors, and participants, answering questions and offering directional assistance.
  • Monitor field, court, or venue activities to ensure adherence to facility rules, safety regulations, and established schedules.
  • Conduct regular, thorough inspections of the assigned area, including fields, equipment, and common spaces, to identify potential hazards, maintenance needs, or cleanliness issues.
  • Perform setup and breakdown of equipment for games, events, practices, and rentals, such as moving goals, setting up cones, arranging seating, and preparing scoreboards.
  • Manage the check-in and check-out process for rental equipment, ensuring all items are accounted for and returned in good condition.
  • Operate and maintain light equipment and utility vehicles, such as golf carts or field marking machinery, in a safe and responsible manner.
  • Execute basic groundskeeping and maintenance tasks, including trash removal, cleaning restrooms and spectator areas, and addressing minor repairs as they arise.
  • Serve as a first point of contact for incidents, accidents, or emergencies, providing immediate assistance and escalating to management or emergency services according to protocol.
  • Enforce facility policies and procedures in a firm but courteous manner to ensure a safe and enjoyable environment for everyone.
  • Assist with crowd management and pedestrian flow during high-traffic periods or special events to prevent congestion and safety risks.
  • Communicate effectively with fellow staff members, supervisors, and other departments via two-way radio or other communication devices to coordinate activities.
  • Document and report all incidents, maintenance issues, and safety concerns accurately and promptly using designated logs or software.
  • Manage the opening and closing procedures for the facility, ensuring all areas are secure, lights are turned off, and gates are locked.
  • Provide support for special events, tournaments, and corporate outings, adapting to changing needs and responsibilities as directed by the event lead.
  • Handle point-of-sale transactions for concessions, merchandise, or facility access fees, including cash handling and credit card processing.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including storage areas, equipment rooms, and office spaces.
  • Assist with inventory management of supplies and equipment, notifying a supervisor when stock levels are low.
  • Act as a brand ambassador, representing the organization with professionalism, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude at all times.
  • Oversee the scheduling and rotation of fields or courts, ensuring a smooth transition between user groups and resolving any scheduling conflicts on the spot.
  • Perform field lining, marking, or other preparations specific to the sport or event being held, ensuring accurate dimensions and visibility.

Secondary Functions

  • Provide feedback to management on operational workflows, guest experiences, and potential areas for improvement.
  • Assist in training new part-time or seasonal attendants on facility protocols, safety procedures, and customer service standards.
  • Compile and submit daily operational reports, including attendance counts, incident summaries, and maintenance logs.
  • Support marketing and promotional efforts by distributing flyers, answering questions about programs, and encouraging guest participation.

Experience Requirements

Typical Experience Range: 0-3 years in a relevant role.
