Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Direct and oversee all aspects of on-site project execution, ensuring that scopes of work are completed according to contract specifications, schedules, and budgets.
  • Recruit, train, mentor, and manage a high-performing team of field personnel, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous professional development.
  • Develop and implement detailed work schedules, resource allocation plans, and logistical strategies to optimize field team efficiency and productivity.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, property owners, and subcontractors on-site, providing regular updates and resolving any issues with professionalism and urgency.
  • Enforce strict adherence to all company and OSHA safety protocols, conducting regular site safety audits and toolbox talks to maintain a zero-incident work environment.
  • Conduct comprehensive quality assurance and quality control inspections throughout the project lifecycle to ensure workmanship meets or exceeds industry and company standards.
  • Manage and control project-related costs, including labor, materials, and equipment, and provide accurate forecasting to the project management team.
  • Prepare and submit detailed daily, weekly, and monthly reports documenting project progress, team performance, site conditions, and any potential risks or delays.
  • Proactively identify, troubleshoot, and resolve complex technical and logistical challenges that arise in the field, minimizing impact on project timelines.
  • Coordinate the timely delivery and inventory management of all necessary materials, tools, and equipment to the job site to prevent work stoppages.
  • Champion a customer-centric approach, ensuring that all interactions and deliverables are focused on achieving maximum client satisfaction.
  • Evaluate the performance of field staff through regular check-ins and formal reviews, providing constructive feedback and creating development plans.
  • Collaborate closely with internal departments, including Project Management, Engineering, and Sales, to ensure seamless communication and project alignment.
  • Interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction documents to guide field teams and verify that work is being performed to the correct specifications.
  • Drive the adoption of new technologies and field management software to improve data collection, reporting accuracy, and operational efficiency.
  • Manage and approve field team timecards, expense reports, and requests for time off, ensuring compliance with company policies.
  • Conduct pre-construction site walks to assess site conditions, identify potential obstacles, and contribute to the final project plan.
  • Oversee the complete project closeout process, including final inspections, punch list completion, and the demobilization of personnel and equipment.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for your assigned territory or project type, providing valuable field-level insights to senior leadership.
  • Develop and maintain strong professional relationships with local authorities, inspectors, and utility representatives to facilitate smooth project progression.
  • Lead by example, demonstrating a strong work ethic, integrity, and a hands-on approach to management in a dynamic field environment.

  • Project Management Software: Proficiency in tools like Procore, Asana, MS Project, or similar construction/field service management platforms.
  • Budget & Cost Management: Experience tracking project expenses, managing labor costs, and reporting on financial performance.
  • Quality Assurance/Control: Deep understanding of inspection processes and quality standards relevant to the industry (e.g., construction, telecom).
  • Safety Compliance (OSHA): Strong knowledge of OSHA 10/30 standards and other job site safety regulations.
  • Blueprint & Schematic Reading: Ability to interpret technical drawings and plans to guide on-site execution.
  • CRM & Field Service Automation: Familiarity with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) and field service management tools for scheduling and reporting.

Education & Experience

Educational Background

Minimum Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

Preferred Education:

  • PMP (Project Management Professional) or other relevant industry certifications (e.g., OSHA 30, Certified Construction Manager).

Experience Requirements

Typical Experience Range: 5-10 years of progressive experience in a field-based role, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or management capacity.

Preferred: Direct experience managing field teams in the construction, telecommunications, renewable energy, or a similar technical services industry. A demonstrated track record of successfully completing multiple projects on time and on budget is highly desirable.
