Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Recruit, train, manage, and retain a large network of volunteers to participate in direct voter contact activities.
- Plan, execute, and oversee daily voter outreach operations, including door-to-door canvassing, phone banking, and text banking initiatives.
- Meet and exceed ambitious, data-driven goals for voter contact, volunteer recruitment, and supporter identification.
- Organize and lead a variety of community-based events, such as house meetings, town halls, neighborhood gatherings, and visibility events to build our presence.
- Implement and manage relational organizing programs, empowering supporters to leverage their personal networks to expand our reach.
- Execute a robust Get-Out-the-Vote (GOTV) operation, ensuring maximum supporter turnout during critical election periods.
- Cut and manage geographic "turf" for volunteers, ensuring efficient and complete coverage of assigned areas.
- Conduct regular one-on-one meetings with volunteer leaders to provide coaching, support, and strategic guidance.
- Meticulously track all field activity and progress to goals using campaign software, primarily Voter Activation Network (VAN).
- Develop and cultivate strong, lasting relationships with community leaders, local influencers, allied organizations, and key stakeholders.
- Serve as the public face and primary point of contact for the campaign within your designated region.
- Prepare and deliver compelling training sessions for volunteers on canvassing scripts, phone banking techniques, and campaign messaging.
- Lead by example by consistently participating in direct voter contact alongside your volunteer teams.
- Identify and develop a core team of volunteer leaders, delegating responsibilities to build capacity and a sustainable organization.
- Ensure the timely and accurate entry of all data collected by volunteers to maintain the integrity of our contact universe.
Secondary Functions
- Develop and distribute field materials, including scripts, literature, training guides, and event flyers.
- Provide the Regional Field Director with consistent, detailed reports on field metrics, progress, and qualitative on-the-ground feedback.
- Collaborate with the digital and communications teams to identify and elevate powerful supporter stories and testimonials.
- Manage logistics for field events and volunteer activities, including securing locations, coordinating supplies, and managing local resources.
- Adapt field tactics and strategies in real-time based on data analysis and changing local dynamics.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and motivating team culture that empowers volunteers and makes them feel valued.
- Represent the organization at community board meetings, coalition partner events, and other public forums.
Required Skills & Competencies
Hard Skills (Technical)
- Proficiency in using Voter Activation Network (VAN) or a similar voter database/CRM.
- Experience with digital organizing tools such as Hustle, ThruText, or Mobilize.
- Strong data management skills, with an emphasis on accurate and timely data entry.
- Competency in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides) or Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to analyze field data to track progress toward goals and inform strategic adjustments.
- Familiarity with budget management for local events and activities.

Educational Background
Minimum Education:

Experience Requirements
Typical Experience Range:
0-2 years of experience in community organizing, political campaigns, advocacy, or a related field. Experience as a dedicated volunteer or intern is highly valued.
Preferred:
At least one full campaign cycle of experience, particularly in a field organizing or volunteer leadership capacity (e.g., Field Fellow). A proven track record of meeting or exceeding goals is a significant plus. A valid driver's license and reliable access to a vehicle are often required.
