Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Travel extensively to various regional locations to deliver high-impact, in-person training sessions, workshops, and one-on-one coaching for field-based employees.
  • Design, develop, and continuously update comprehensive training curricula, including facilitator guides, participant workbooks, job aids, and presentation materials, aligned with adult learning principles.
  • Conduct thorough training needs analyses through surveys, interviews, and on-site observations to identify skill gaps and performance improvement opportunities.
  • Master and effectively communicate complex product knowledge, sales methodologies, operational procedures, and company policies to a diverse, geographically dispersed audience.
  • Provide direct, on-the-job coaching and "ride-alongs" with sales or service professionals to observe, provide real-time feedback, and reinforce best practices.
  • Facilitate new hire onboarding programs in the field, ensuring a smooth and effective transition for new team members into their roles and territories.
  • Assess the effectiveness of training programs by developing and implementing knowledge checks, skill assessments, and post-training evaluations to measure learning retention.
  • Utilize Learning Management Systems (LMS) to schedule training, track attendance, manage course materials, and report on training completion rates and effectiveness.
  • Collaborate closely with regional leadership and sales managers to align training initiatives with specific business goals and territory-level performance objectives.
  • Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) and business metrics to measure and report on the direct impact of training interventions on individual and team performance.
  • Act as a subject matter expert and a central point of contact for the field team regarding training-related questions, resources, and ongoing support.
  • Customize and tailor existing training content to meet the unique needs of different markets, regions, and individual learner groups.
  • Manage all logistical aspects of field training events, including scheduling, venue coordination, material distribution, and travel arrangements to ensure a seamless experience.
  • Gather and synthesize qualitative feedback from field personnel to inform product development, marketing strategies, and operational process improvements.
  • Develop and lead "train-the-trainer" sessions to empower local managers and team leads to conduct ongoing, localized coaching and reinforcement training.
  • Create and maintain a library of on-demand learning resources, such as e-learning modules, video tutorials, and best practice guides, for continuous field access.
  • Stay current with the latest industry trends, competitive landscape, training technologies, and adult learning methodologies to ensure our programs remain cutting-edge.
  • Prepare and present regular, detailed reports to senior management on training activities, program effectiveness, observed field trends, and ROI.
  • Foster a positive and engaging learning environment that encourages active participation, collaboration, and a commitment to continuous professional development.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams, including Marketing, Product, and Operations, to ensure training content is accurate, relevant, and consistently messaged across the organization.
  • Observe and evaluate employee performance post-training to ensure learning has been successfully transferred to the job and is being applied effectively to drive results.
  • Champion company culture, values, and brand standards during every field interaction, acting as a key ambassador for the organization.

Secondary Functions

  • Support the annual sales kick-off and regional meetings by developing and delivering key training sessions and workshops.
  • Contribute to the creation and maintenance of sales playbooks, competitive battle cards, and other sales enablement resources.
  • Pilot new training programs or technology initiatives in select markets to test for effectiveness before a full-scale rollout.
  • Participate in user acceptance testing (UAT) for new software or tools being deployed to the field, providing valuable user-centric feedback.

Required Skills & Competencies

Hard Skills (Technical)

  • LMS Administration: Proficiency with Learning Management Systems (e.g., Cornerstone, Docebo, Litmos) for content deployment, user management, and reporting.
  • Presentation Software Mastery: Advanced skills in creating compelling and professional presentations using tools like Microsoft PowerPoint, Google Slides, and Prezi.
  • CRM Expertise: Deep experience with CRM platforms, particularly Salesforce, to effectively train users and understand performance data.

Education & Experience

Educational Background

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent practical experience in a relevant field.

Preferred Education:

  • Master's Degree in a relevant field or a professional training certification (e.g., CPTD, CPLP).

Experience Requirements

Typical Experience Range:
