Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

Precisely measure, cut, and install a wide range of interior trim, including multi-piece crown molding, baseboards, wainscoting, and window/door casings, ensuring tight fits and seamless joints.
Expertly hang and fit interior and exterior doors, including pre-hung and slab doors, ensuring proper swing, alignment, clearances, and hardware functionality.
Perform high-end installation of custom and stock cabinetry, vanities, and built-ins, ensuring they are perfectly level, plumb, and securely fastened according to plans.
Read and interpret architectural blueprints, shop drawings, and specifications to execute complex designs with precision and accuracy.
Construct and install detailed staircase components, including handrails, balusters, newel posts, treads, and risers, ensuring structural integrity and aesthetic perfection.
Install and adjust a diverse array of finish hardware, such as locksets, hinges, cabinet pulls, and other decorative elements, with meticulous attention to placement and function.
Skillfully scribe and fit woodwork to irregular surfaces like stone fireplaces, brick walls, and uneven floors for a custom, gap-free installation.
Install decorative wall treatments such as wood paneling, shiplap, and tongue-and-groove ceilings, ensuring consistent spacing and flawless alignment.
Fabricate custom-built components on-site or in a shop, such as mantels, bookshelves, and entertainment centers, based on project requirements.
Conduct thorough quality control checks on all finished work, identifying and correcting any imperfections to guarantee the highest standards of craftsmanship.
Accurately estimate material needs for projects, calculating quantities of lumber, trim, fasteners, and adhesives to minimize waste and ensure project efficiency.
Perform detailed repair and restoration of existing woodwork, matching historical profiles and finishes on renovation and historic preservation projects.
Cut, shape, and smooth lumber and other materials using a variety of hand and power tools, such as table saws, miter saws, routers, and sanders.
Install exterior finishing elements, including siding, fascia, soffits, and decorative brackets, ensuring proper weatherproofing and durability.
Communicate professionally and effectively with clients, project managers, and designers on-site to clarify details, provide progress updates, and ensure total satisfaction.
Proactively identify and resolve on-site challenges and discrepancies between plans and existing conditions, adapting techniques to deliver optimal solutions.
Properly handle, store, and protect high-quality finish materials, such as hardwoods, veneers, and pre-finished products, to prevent damage on the job site.
Efficiently work through final punch lists, completing all necessary adjustments, touch-ups, and minor installations to achieve project sign-off.
Perform precise layout for all installations, establishing reference points and lines to ensure all components are placed accurately according to the design.
Install high-end flooring materials such as hardwood and engineered wood, ensuring a professional, level finish with appropriate expansion considerations.
