Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Assist the Captain in all aspects of flight preparation and execution to ensure the highest levels of safety, efficiency, and compliance with all regulations.
- Conduct comprehensive pre-flight inspections, including a detailed aircraft walk-around and a thorough review of all cockpit instrumentation, systems, and emergency equipment.
- Perform and cross-check all flight planning calculations, including fuel requirements, weight and balance, takeoff/landing performance, and route analysis.
- Maintain continuous and vigilant monitoring of all flight instruments, engine parameters, and aircraft systems throughout all phases of flight to detect any anomalies.
- Skillfully operate the aircraft's flight controls and systems as delegated by the Captain, ensuring smooth and precise handling from taxi to shutdown.
- Manage all radio communications with Air Traffic Control (ATC), company dispatch, and ground personnel, ensuring all instructions are acknowledged and complied with.
- Navigate the aircraft accurately along the planned route using various navigation systems, including GPS, Flight Management Systems (FMS), and traditional ground-based aids.
- Analyze and interpret real-time weather information from onboard radar and data-linked sources to make strategic decisions for rerouting or altitude changes to ensure passenger comfort and safety.
- Execute standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all normal, abnormal, and emergency situations with precision, calmness, and composure.
- Maintain an in-depth, current knowledge of the aircraft's systems, limitations, and performance characteristics through continuous study and recurrent training.
- Complete all required flight documentation, including the flight log, maintenance write-ups, and other administrative paperwork, with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Actively practice and promote Crew Resource Management (CRM) by fostering open communication, challenging assumptions, and supporting effective decision-making in the cockpit.
- Make clear, professional, and reassuring public address announcements to passengers regarding flight status, weather, and any operational updates.
- Remain prepared to assume the responsibilities and authority of the Pilot in Command (PIC) in the event of Captain incapacitation, in accordance with established procedures.
- Uphold the company's commitment to on-time performance by coordinating effectively with cabin crew, gate agents, and ground operations for a timely departure.
- Ensure the aircraft is in a secure and orderly state post-flight, completing all shutdown, logbook, and securing checklists meticulously.
- Maintain currency and proficiency on the assigned aircraft type by successfully completing all recurrent ground and simulator training, as well as proficiency checks.
- Adhere strictly to all Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs), international aviation laws (ICAO), and company policies outlined in the flight operations manual.
- Proactively identify and manage potential threats and errors using Threat and Error Management (TEM) principles to mitigate risks and maintain the highest possible margin of safety.
- Provide leadership and support to the entire crew, contributing to a positive, professional, and collaborative working environment onboard the aircraft.
- Monitor fuel consumption throughout the flight, cross-referencing with the flight plan and making adjustments as necessary to ensure adequate reserves upon arrival.
- Supervise aircraft fueling, loading, and servicing procedures on the ground to ensure they are conducted safely and in accordance with company and regulatory standards.
Secondary Functions
- Participate actively in company safety programs, including submitting safety reports and contributing to a positive, non-punitive safety culture.
- Mentor and provide guidance to newly qualified pilots when applicable, sharing knowledge and experience to foster their professional development.

Required Skills & Competencies
Hard Skills (Technical)
- FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate (or Restricted ATP eligibility)
- Current FAA First-Class Medical Certificate
- Valid, unrestricted Passport with the ability to travel to all international and domestic destinations served
- FCC Radiotelephone Operator's Permit
- Proficiency with modern Flight Management Systems (FMS) and glass cockpit avionics suites
- Comprehensive knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs), specifically Parts 91, 117, and 121
- Demonstrated experience in all-weather flight operations, including low-visibility takeoffs and landings
- Proficiency with Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) applications and associated software
- Specific aircraft type rating is highly preferred (e.g., B737, A320, CRJ, E175)

Experience Requirements
Typical Experience Range:
- Must meet FAA ATP or R-ATP minimum flight experience requirements (e.g., 1,500/1,250/1,000/750 hours total time).
- Unrestricted right to live and work in the United States.
Preferred:
- Experience in Part 121 airline operations.
