Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Receive, unload, and process incoming shipments, meticulously verifying contents against purchase orders and packing slips to ensure accuracy.
- Utilize handheld RF scanners and inventory management software (WMS) to track stock movement, conduct cycle counts, and maintain precise inventory records.
- Execute strategic stock replenishment plans to ensure the sales floor is consistently well-stocked, visually appealing, and meets company merchandising standards.
- Safely operate material handling equipment, such as pallet jacks, hand trucks, and dollies, to efficiently move merchandise from the stockroom to the sales floor.
- Monitor inventory levels on the sales floor and in backstock areas, proactively communicating shortages or overstock situations to management.
- Organize and maintain the cleanliness, safety, and efficiency of the stockroom and back-of-house areas, ensuring clear pathways and logical storage of goods.
- Prepare and stage products for floor sets, promotional events, and seasonal transitions according to planograms and visual merchandising directives.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and procedures, including proper lifting techniques and safe equipment operation, to foster a secure work environment.
- Process damaged, expired, or returned goods according to company policy, preparing them for return-to-vendor (RTV), disposal, or markdown.
- Collaborate with the sales team to quickly locate specific items for customers and provide accurate information on product availability.
- Break down cardboard boxes and manage packing materials, disposing of them in designated recycling and waste containers to maintain a clean workspace.
- Tag, label, and apply security sensors to merchandise accurately and efficiently before it is moved to the sales floor.
- Rotate stock using the First-In, First-Out (FIFO) principle to minimize spoilage, reduce obsolescence, and ensure product freshness.
- Participate in periodic full-store physical inventory counts, which may require flexibility in scheduling outside of regular business hours.
- Ensure all aisles, fire lanes, and emergency exits are kept clear of merchandise, equipment, and debris in compliance with safety regulations.
Secondary Functions
- Assist in the assembly and arrangement of merchandise fixtures, shelving, and promotional displays as required for store layout changes.
- Support the fulfillment of online orders for in-store pickup, accurately picking items from inventory and preparing them for customer collection.
- Assist in executing markdowns and price changes, ensuring all product pricing and corresponding signage is accurate and updated in a timely manner.
- Provide on-the-job guidance and support to new team members, sharing knowledge of best practices for stocking and inventory procedures.
- Communicate effectively with truck drivers and delivery personnel during the receiving process to ensure a smooth and orderly transfer of goods.
- Maintain detailed logs of incoming and outgoing shipments, noting any damages, shortages, or overages for accurate reporting and claims processing.
Required Skills & Competencies

- RF Scanner Operation: Experience using handheld radio-frequency scanners for tracking, picking, and cycle counting.
