Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Operate, monitor, and make minor adjustments to food production and packaging machinery according to established standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Accurately measure, weigh, and mix raw ingredients following detailed batch records and recipes to ensure product consistency and quality.
- Perform continuous in-process quality checks on products, monitoring attributes such as temperature, weight, appearance, and texture to meet strict specifications.
- Assemble food products on a fast-paced production line, ensuring all components are present, correctly placed, and meet visual quality standards.
- Package, seal, and label finished goods into their primary and secondary containers (e.g., bags, trays, boxes, cartons), verifying code dates and label accuracy.
- Adhere strictly to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), food safety protocols (HACCP), and company-specific health and safety regulations at all times.
- Execute routine cleaning and sanitation of production equipment, tools, and work areas to maintain a hygienic environment and prevent cross-contamination.
- Load raw materials, ingredients, and packaging supplies onto the production line and transfer finished products to warehouse or staging areas.
- Monitor the flow of production and promptly report any equipment malfunctions, material shortages, or quality deviations to the shift supervisor or team lead.
- Complete and maintain accurate production logs, quality control records, and batch sheets, documenting all relevant data for traceability and compliance.
- Work collaboratively and communicate effectively as part of a team to meet daily and weekly production targets and overall efficiency goals.
- Inspect both raw materials and finished products for any defects, foreign materials, or inconsistencies, and take appropriate corrective action as directed.
Secondary Functions
- Safely operate material handling equipment, such as pallet jacks or hand trucks, to move supplies and finished goods within the facility.
- Assist in the setup and changeover of production lines for different products, which includes adjusting machinery and swapping out components under supervision.
- Sort, grade, and portion food items by hand or using specialized equipment to prepare them for the next stage of processing or packaging.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation throughout the shift, practicing "clean-as-you-go" principles to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
- Participate actively in regular safety training sessions and contribute to a culture of safety by identifying and reporting potential hazards.
- Rotate through various tasks and stations on the production floor as required by operational needs, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to learn new skills.
- Verify that all necessary supplies (e.g., packaging film, labels, ingredients) are available and stocked at the start of and throughout the production run.
- Assist with periodic inventory counts and support stock rotation practices (FIFO - First-In, First-Out) to ensure material freshness and minimize waste.

Hard Skills (Technical)
- Knowledge of GMP/Food Safety: Understanding of and ability to adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), HACCP, and other food safety standards.
- Machine Operation: Basic mechanical aptitude with the ability to operate and monitor production line equipment.
- Physical Stamina & Strength: Ability to stand for extended periods, perform repetitive motions, and consistently lift/move objects up to 50 lbs.
- Basic Math Skills: Competency in performing simple arithmetic for tasks like weighing ingredients, counting inventory, and verifying quantities.
- Attention to Detail: Meticulousness in following recipes, checking for quality defects, and ensuring accurate labeling and record-keeping.
- Material Handling: Experience or ability to be trained on manual pallet jacks and other material handling equipment.
