Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Proactively engage and connect with customers, creating a welcoming atmosphere while expertly guiding them through our product offerings to find the perfect items for their needs.
- Develop and maintain deep, comprehensive knowledge of all products, including origin, flavor profiles, preparation methods, and ideal pairings to provide authentic recommendations.
- Drive sales by actively upselling and cross-selling complementary products, sharing promotions, and suggesting new items to enhance the customer's culinary experience.
- Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system with accuracy and efficiency, processing various transaction types including sales, returns, and special orders while managing cash and credit payments securely.
- Prepare and offer food samples to customers in a safe and appealing manner, effectively demonstrating product quality and driving trial and purchase.
- Build and cultivate lasting relationships with a diverse customer base, remembering repeat customers and their preferences to foster loyalty and create a community feel.
- Master the art of storytelling to convey the unique value and history behind our artisanal products, creating an engaging and educational shopping environment.
- Handle all customer inquiries, feedback, and concerns with a high level of professionalism and empathy, seeking solutions to ensure complete customer satisfaction.
- Consistently meet and exceed individual and team sales goals and other key performance indicators (KPIs) set by management.
- Maintain the visual integrity and brand standards of the sales floor, including the organization of displays, signage, and overall cleanliness.
- Execute daily opening and closing procedures, including cash drawer reconciliation, store tidiness, and securing the premises as per company guidelines.
- Assist customers with special orders, custom gift baskets, and catering inquiries, ensuring all details are captured accurately and communicated to the appropriate teams.
Secondary Functions
- Support inventory management processes, including receiving shipments, verifying invoices, stocking shelves, and conducting regular cycle counts to ensure product availability.
- Diligently monitor product freshness and quality, rotating stock using the FIFO (First-In, First-Out) method and removing any items that do not meet our high standards.
- Assist in the execution of merchandising plans, setting up and maintaining attractive promotional displays, and ensuring all products are accurately priced and labeled.
- Collaborate closely with team members across all departments to ensure seamless store operations and a consistently excellent customer experience.
- Actively participate in team meetings, product training sessions, and professional development opportunities to continually enhance skills and product knowledge.
- Uphold all health, safety, and sanitation regulations, maintaining a clean and orderly work environment in both customer-facing and back-of-house areas.
- Support the training and onboarding of new team members by sharing product knowledge and demonstrating best practices in sales and customer service.
- Stay informed about local food trends, competitor activities, and industry news to provide relevant insights and maintain a competitive edge.
Required Skills & Competencies
