Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Accurately and consistently apply a variety of specified toppings, such as cheeses, meats, vegetables, and sauces, onto food products moving along a production line.
  • Meticulously follow detailed recipe cards and production orders to guarantee product consistency and meet strict quality assurance standards for every item.
  • Operate and monitor automated topping and dispensing equipment, performing minor adjustments as needed to ensure optimal performance and consistent application.
  • Conduct ongoing visual quality inspections of products, identifying and removing any items that do not meet the company's high standards for appearance, quality, and safety.
  • Precisely weigh and measure ingredients and toppings using digital scales to enforce strict portion control, minimize waste, and ensure compliance with product specifications.
  • Adhere strictly to all food safety protocols, including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), HACCP guidelines, and company-specific sanitation procedures.
  • Maintain a pristine and organized workstation by performing regular cleaning, including wiping down surfaces, cleaning utensils, and preventing cross-contamination.
  • Manage and replenish topping stations by retrieving ingredients from storage areas, ensuring a continuous supply to prevent line stoppages and maintain production momentum.
  • Work at a consistent and required pace to meet daily and weekly production targets and deadlines without compromising the quality or safety of the products.
  • Communicate effectively with line leads and supervisors regarding any product inconsistencies, equipment malfunctions, or potential safety hazards.
  • Demonstrate the physical ability to stand for extended periods, perform repetitive hand/wrist motions, and lift/move containers of ingredients weighing up to 30 lbs.
  • Rotate food products and ingredients using the First-In, First-Out (FIFO) method to ensure maximum freshness and minimize spoilage.

Secondary Functions

  • Document production activities accurately, including tracking batch numbers, recording quantities produced, and noting deviations on production logs.
  • Assist in the setup and breakdown of the production line, including preparing topping stations before a shift and conducting thorough cleaning at the end of the day.
  • Wear and maintain all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including hairnets, gloves, aprons, and non-slip footwear, throughout the entire shift.
  • Participate actively in team meetings and continuous improvement initiatives, providing feedback on how to enhance efficiency, safety, and product quality.
  • Cross-train in other areas of the production line as needed to provide support and ensure operational flexibility during staff absences or peak production times.
  • Safely handle and operate food processing equipment, such as slicers or dicers, following all safety guards and procedures to prepare toppings for the line.
  • Monitor the temperature of refrigerated and frozen ingredients to ensure they remain within safe ranges, reporting any discrepancies immediately.
  • Sort and prepare raw ingredients, ensuring they are clean, properly sized, and ready for application on the production line.

Education & Experience

Educational Background

Minimum Education:

Experience Requirements

Typical Experience Range: 0-2 years in a related environment.

Preferred: Previous experience in food manufacturing, a high-volume commercial kitchen, or an assembly line role is highly desirable. However, we are willing to provide comprehensive training for motivated candidates who demonstrate a strong desire to learn and a solid work ethic.
