  • Conduct bottoming and cementing processes, preparing the shoe bottom and attaching the sole unit with heat and pressure activation.
  • Execute finishing tasks including trimming excess material, cleaning residual adhesive, buffing, polishing, and dressing the final product.
  • Insert and attach components such as insoles, sock liners, tongues, and heel counters according to product guidelines.
  • Visually inspect components before, during, and after assembly to identify material defects, stitching errors, or other imperfections.
  • Follow detailed work orders, blueprints, and technical specifications to ensure each shoe is built to the correct design standard.
  • Manage workflow at your station to meet and exceed daily and weekly production targets without compromising quality.
  • Safely operate a variety of hand tools including trimming knives, hammers, and specialized pliers for detailed assembly work.
  • Monitor machine performance, performing basic troubleshooting and routine maintenance like changing needles and cleaning equipment.
  • Carefully handle a wide range of materials, including delicate leathers, high-tech synthetics, and various textiles.
  • Attach outsoles to the lasted uppers using sole presses or stitching methods like Goodyear welting, depending on the shoe's construction.
  • Prepare and assemble heel components, ensuring they are correctly positioned and securely attached for stability and comfort.
