Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Manage and execute digital forensic investigations involving the acquisition, preservation, and analysis of data from a wide range of sources, including computers, mobile devices, servers, and cloud environments.
- Conduct complex financial investigations to uncover fraud, corruption, and misconduct by analyzing accounting records, financial statements, and electronic data to identify anomalies and patterns.
- Provide end-to-end eDiscovery services in support of litigation and regulatory matters, including data identification, preservation, collection, processing, and review management using platforms like Relativity.
- Author detailed, high-quality forensic reports and expert witness statements that clearly articulate complex technical and financial findings to non-technical audiences, including legal counsel, corporate executives, and courts.
- Perform advanced data analytics and forensic analysis on large, complex datasets using SQL, Python, or specialized software to identify trends, quantify financial damages, and support investigative conclusions.
- Lead client-facing engagements, managing project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation while serving as the primary point of contact and ensuring client satisfaction.
- Conduct interviews with witnesses and subjects of investigations to gather evidence and information in a professional and forensically sound manner.
- Assist legal teams in preparing for depositions, trials, and arbitrations by providing technical expertise, explaining forensic evidence, and potentially testifying as a fact or expert witness.
- Preserve and collect electronically stored information (ESI) in a forensically sound manner, maintaining a meticulous chain of custody for all evidence handled throughout the engagement lifecycle.
- Analyze and reconstruct complex financial transactions and corporate structures to trace illicit funds, identify hidden assets, and support asset recovery efforts in fraud and bankruptcy cases.
- Investigate incidents of data breaches and cybersecurity events, performing root cause analysis to determine the method of compromise, scope of data exfiltration, and remediation steps.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, legal counsel, and internal stakeholders, identifying new business opportunities and contributing to practice development initiatives.
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in forensic technology, investigative techniques, legal precedents, and industry regulations to ensure the practice remains at the cutting edge.
- Provide mentorship, training, and supervision to junior consultants and analysts, overseeing their work to ensure quality and adherence to established protocols.
- Perform forensic analysis of mobile devices (iOS/Android) using tools like Cellebrite and Grayshift to recover active and deleted data, including communications, location data, and application usage.

- Utilize and maintain proficiency with a variety of forensic software (e.g., EnCase, FTK, Axiom, X-Ways) and hardware (e.g., Tableau/Write-blockers) for imaging and analysis.
- Handle highly sensitive and confidential information with the utmost discretion and integrity, adhering to strict data privacy and security protocols.
- Translate complex business challenges and legal requirements into technical data collection and analysis strategies, ensuring the investigative approach is both effective and defensible.
