Primary Functions

  • Evaluate and select functional ingredients (emulsifiers, thickeners, active ingredients, preservatives, buffers) based on performance, compatibility, safety, regulatory status and cost constraints.
  • Characterize physical properties (viscosity, rheology, spreadability, texture, particle size, zeta potential, pH) and correlate sensory/physical attributes with consumer expectations and packaging format.
  • Lead in‑lab safety and GMP practices: maintain cleanroom protocols where applicable, handle hazardous materials safely, and ensure accurate sample labeling and chain of custody.
  • Perform analytical method development and validation or coordinate with analytical teams for method qualification to support release testing and stability monitoring.
  • Collaborate with marketing, consumer insights, and packaging teams to translate consumer-driven brief into measurable formulation targets (sensory, scent, texture, performance) and prototype iterations.
  • Provide technical leadership on product claims substantiation (efficacy testing, in‑vitro/in‑vivo studies), ensure claims are scientifically defensible and regulatory compliant.
