Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Analyze franchisee financial statements, including Profit & Loss (P&L), balance sheets, and cash flow statements, to evaluate financial health and report on performance trends.
- Conduct comprehensive market research and demographic analysis to identify and qualify potential new territories for strategic franchise expansion.
- Develop and maintain complex financial models to support franchise pro forma projections, return on investment (ROI) calculations, and business valuation scenarios.
- Generate and distribute detailed weekly, monthly, and quarterly performance reports for all franchise locations, highlighting key performance indicators (KPIs) such as sales, customer traffic, and operational compliance.
- Support the franchise development team by preparing data-driven presentations for discovery days, compiling candidate profiles, and creating sophisticated territory mapping analyses.
- Manage and maintain the integrity of the franchise database and CRM system (e.g., Salesforce, FranConnect), ensuring accuracy of franchisee data, key dates, and compliance documentation.
- Track and report on the franchise sales pipeline from initial lead inquiry through to franchise agreement signing, providing insights on conversion rates and lead sources.
- Analyze unit-level economic data to benchmark performance across the franchise system, identifying best practices and opportunities for operational improvement.
- Assist in the preparation and data compilation for the annual Franchise Disclosure Document (FDD), particularly for Item 19 (Financial Performance Representations).
- Monitor and analyze KPIs for individual franchise units and the system as a whole, preparing summary dashboards and presentations for senior leadership.
- Collaborate with the real estate team to analyze potential franchise sites, including trade area evaluations, competitive landscape mapping, and sales forecasting.
- Perform royalty, marketing, and other fee calculations, audits, and reconciliations to ensure ongoing compliance with franchise agreements.
- Create compelling data visualizations, charts, and graphs using BI tools to effectively communicate complex findings to non-technical stakeholders.
- Support the annual business planning and budgeting process for the franchise division by providing historical data, trend analysis, and future-looking forecasts.
- Analyze customer feedback, online reviews, and survey data to pinpoint opportunities for enhancing customer experience and operational standards across the network.
Secondary Functions
- Support ad-hoc data requests and exploratory data analysis from various departments, including operations, marketing, and executive leadership.
- Contribute to the organization's data strategy and roadmap by identifying opportunities for process automation and improved data collection.
- Collaborate with business units to translate data needs into engineering requirements for the development of new reports and dashboards.
- Participate in sprint planning and agile ceremonies within the data engineering and analytics teams.

Required Skills & Competencies
Hard Skills (Technical)
- Advanced Microsoft Excel: Mastery of pivot tables, VLOOKUP/INDEX(MATCH), complex formulas, and data modeling is essential.
- Financial Modeling: Experience building and maintaining financial models for forecasting, valuation, and analysis.
