Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Develop and execute the overarching franchise growth strategy, including market analysis, territory planning, and franchisee profiling to drive a robust and qualified recruitment pipeline.
  • Lead the end-to-end franchise sales and development lifecycle, from initial lead generation and candidate qualification through Discovery Days, FDD review, and the final awarding of new franchise agreements.
  • Direct the comprehensive onboarding, initial training, and grand opening support for all new franchisees, ensuring they are positioned for a successful launch and long-term operational excellence.
  • Oversee a team of Franchise Business Consultants and/or field support staff, providing mentorship, performance management, and strategic direction to ensure consistent and effective support for the entire franchise network.
  • Establish, monitor, and rigorously enforce brand standards, operational procedures, and quality control measures across all franchise locations to protect brand integrity and deliver a uniform, high-quality customer experience.
  • Analyze franchisee P&L statements, cash flow, KPIs, and other key financial metrics to identify opportunities for improvement, provide strategic business coaching, and drive unit-level profitability.
  • Spearhead the development and implementation of national and local marketing initiatives in close collaboration with the marketing department to increase brand awareness, drive customer traffic, and boost sales for franchisees.
  • Act as the primary liaison and relationship manager between the corporate office and the franchisee community, fostering strong, collaborative partnerships built on trust, transparency, and mutual success.
  • Manage and facilitate the Franchise Advisory Council (FAC) and other franchisee communication platforms, ensuring productive dialogue and the integration of valuable franchisee feedback into corporate strategy.
  • Direct the franchise compliance program, ensuring all franchisees operate in full accordance with the Franchise Agreement, operational manuals, and all applicable federal and state regulations.
  • Develop and manage the annual budget for the franchise department, including accurate forecasting of royalties, franchise fees, transfer fees, and departmental operating expenses.
  • Lead the franchise renewal process, evaluating franchisee performance against key metrics to negotiate and execute renewal agreements with high-performing operators.
  • Conduct regular, structured field visits and formal business reviews with franchisees to assess operational health, audit for brand standards, and provide hands-on coaching and strategic guidance.
  • Drive system-wide innovation by identifying, vetting, and piloting new products, services, and technologies designed to enhance franchisee profitability, operational efficiency, and competitive advantage.
  • Serve as the final point of escalation for complex franchisee issues and conflicts, expertly mediating disputes and delivering solutions that align with the brand's best interests and legal obligations.
  • Architect and manage the continuing education and training calendar for the franchise system, including the planning and execution of annual conventions, regional meetings, and specialized webinars.
  • Collaborate with internal and external legal counsel to periodically review and update the Franchise Disclosure Document (FDD) and all related agreements to ensure ongoing legal compliance.
  • Prepare and present comprehensive performance reports on the health of the franchise system to the executive leadership team, highlighting key metrics, growth trends, successes, and challenges.
  • Champion a high-performance culture of accountability within the franchise network, setting clear expectations, establishing benchmarks, and creating programs to recognize and reward top-performing franchisees.
  • Guide the site selection and real estate development process for new franchise locations, working with real estate teams, brokers, and franchisees to secure and develop optimal sites.
  • Develop and oversee national vendor programs and supply chain management strategies that provide the franchise system with cost savings, quality assurance, and operational efficiencies.
  • Lead the strategic initiative for multi-unit franchise development, actively identifying and cultivating relationships with sophisticated investors and experienced operators capable of large-scale growth.

  • Experience managing a large (100+ unit), multi-state, or international franchise system.
