Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Expertly prepare and serve a wide range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, consistently adhering to established recipes and presentation standards to ensure quality and guest satisfaction.
  • Proactively engage with guests to create a welcoming and memorable bar experience, offering personalized recommendations for drinks and food pairings based on their preferences.

  • Monitor guest consumption of alcohol and behavior, intervening tactfully and professionally as needed to prevent over-intoxication and ensure a safe environment for all patrons.
  • Skillfully manage bar opening and closing procedures, including restocking supplies, preparing garnishes, cleaning equipment, and completing end-of-shift financial reports.
  • Maintain impeccable cleanliness and organization of the bar area, including the bar top, back bar, sinks, and storage areas, throughout the shift in compliance with health and safety codes.
  • Manage bar inventory by tracking usage of spirits, wine, beer, and other supplies, and communicating restocking needs to the Bar Manager to prevent shortages.
  • Build a loyal clientele by remembering repeat guests, their preferences, and engaging them in genuine, professional conversation to foster a sense of community.
  • Handle customer complaints and service issues with grace and efficiency, seeking to resolve problems to the guest's satisfaction while upholding company policies.
  • Collaborate effectively with servers to ensure timely and accurate fulfillment of service-well drink orders, supporting the overall efficiency of the restaurant floor.
  • Upsell and cross-sell premium spirits, craft cocktails, and food items by making appealing suggestions and demonstrating in-depth product knowledge.
  • Contribute creative ideas for new cocktails, seasonal drink specials, and promotional events to help drive revenue and keep the beverage program fresh and exciting.
  • Prepare all necessary bar ingredients and garnishes before and during service, such as fresh-squeezed juices, syrups, and sliced fruits, ensuring high-quality components for all drinks.
  • Continuously develop personal knowledge of mixology trends, new spirits, and craft beer/wine to enhance the guest experience and act as a knowledgeable resource.
  • Operate and maintain all bar equipment, including blenders, espresso machines, and glasswashers, reporting any malfunctions promptly to management.
  • Efficiently manage multiple orders and tasks simultaneously in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment without compromising quality or service standards.
  • Assist in receiving and stocking deliveries of liquor, beer, wine, and other bar supplies, ensuring proper rotation and storage.

  • Support ad-hoc inventory counts and assist management with supply ordering and reconciliation.

Educational Background

Minimum Education:

Experience Requirements

Typical Experience Range: 2+ years of bartending experience in a fast-paced, full-service restaurant or bar.
