Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Assemble a diverse range of residential and commercial furniture, including desks, chairs, bed frames, cabinets, and modular office systems, according to manufacturer's instructions.
- Interpret complex blueprints, schematics, and technical assembly manuals to ensure accurate and structurally sound construction.
- Utilize a wide variety of hand, power, and pneumatic tools with precision and a strong emphasis on safety protocols.
- Carefully unpack furniture components and hardware, performing pre-assembly inspections to identify and report any damage, defects, or missing parts.
- Conduct rigorous final quality assurance checks on all assembled items to guarantee stability, proper alignment, functionality, and a flawless finish.
- Perform on-site assembly and installation at client locations, maintaining a professional demeanor and delivering a best-in-class customer experience.
- Troubleshoot and resolve common assembly challenges, such as misaligned holes or unclear instructions, using strong problem-solving skills.
- Make fine-tune adjustments, touch-ups, and minor repairs to furniture as needed to achieve a perfect final product.
- Lift, carry, and maneuver heavy furniture items and boxes, often weighing up to 75 lbs, both independently and as part of a team.
- Work efficiently and effectively to meet strict project deadlines and daily assembly quotas without compromising quality.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times, whether in our workshop or at a client's property.
- Break down, sort, and dispose of all packaging materials, such as cardboard and styrofoam, leaving the client's space clean and tidy.
Secondary Functions
- Communicate proactively with project managers and customers regarding job status, estimated completion times, and any on-site issues.
- Accurately complete all necessary paperwork, including work orders, service reports, and client sign-off forms.
- Manage and maintain an inventory of personal and company-provided tools, hardware, and assembly supplies.
- Assist in loading and unloading furniture from delivery trucks, ensuring all items are handled with care to prevent damage.
- Provide friendly customer service, including answering basic questions about furniture care, maintenance, and product features.
- Adhere strictly to all company and OSHA safety standards, including the consistent use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Train and mentor new team members on assembly best practices, efficient techniques, and safety procedures.
