Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Conduct thorough pre-inspection of all furniture and upholstery to identify fabric types, pre-existing damage, colorfastness, and specific stains.
- Perform detailed spot and stain removal on a wide variety of upholstery fabrics, utilizing specialized knowledge of chemical solutions and treatment techniques.
- Operate and maintain professional-grade cleaning equipment, including hot water extraction machines, steam cleaners, and low-moisture cleaning systems.
- Select and apply appropriate, safe, and effective cleaning agents, pre-sprays, and rinsing solutions based on the specific type of fabric, soiling level, and stain.
- Execute deep cleaning processes on various furniture pieces such as sofas, loveseats, armchairs, sectionals, ottomans, and dining chairs.
- Communicate effectively with clients to explain the cleaning process, manage expectations, and provide accurate time and cost estimates for services.
- Educate customers on proper post-cleaning care and preventative maintenance techniques to extend the life and appearance of their furniture.
- Apply post-cleaning treatments, such as fabric protectors, deodorizers, and anti-static solutions, to enhance longevity and cleanliness.
- Safely move and handle customer furniture, exercising extreme care to prevent damage to the furniture and the surrounding property.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked work vehicle with all necessary equipment, tools, and chemical solutions for daily jobs.
- Complete all required job-related paperwork and digital documentation accurately and in a timely manner, including work orders, invoices, and customer notes.
- Adhere strictly to all company and industry safety standards and procedures, including the proper handling and storage of cleaning chemicals.
- Troubleshoot and perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on cleaning equipment to ensure optimal performance and prevent downtime.
- Assess and document any unusual conditions or damage found on furniture before cleaning, and communicate these findings clearly to the customer or supervisor.
- Prepare and mix cleaning solutions according to manufacturer specifications and safety data sheets (SDS) to ensure effectiveness and safety.
- Manage on-site job flow efficiently, ensuring that all scheduled work is completed to the highest standard within the allocated time frame.
- Provide exceptional customer service from arrival to departure, addressing any client questions or concerns with professionalism and expertise.
- Identify opportunities to upsell additional services or products, such as carpet cleaning, tile and grout cleaning, or advanced fabric protection.
- Perform final post-cleaning inspections with the client to ensure their complete satisfaction with the results and secure positive reviews.
- Drive a company vehicle to and from customer locations in a safe and courteous manner, following all traffic laws and company driving policies.
- Handle specialized cleaning tasks for delicate fabrics like silk, wool, and linen, applying gentle, low-moisture cleaning methods.
- Work independently or as part of a team on larger residential or commercial cleaning projects, coordinating efforts for maximum efficiency.
Secondary Functions
- Assist in training new technicians on company procedures, equipment operation, and customer service standards.
- Manage and track inventory of cleaning solutions and supplies, placing orders as needed to prevent shortages.

Educational Background
Minimum Education:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Preferred Education:
- Vocational certificate in textile cleaning; IICRC certification (UFT - Upholstery & Fabric Cleaning Technician).

Experience Requirements
Typical Experience Range: 1-3 years in a related field.
Preferred: Proven experience as a professional furniture cleaner, upholstery technician, or carpet cleaner is highly desirable. Candidates with IICRC certification will be given strong consideration. Must be able to lift and move up to 50 lbs.
