Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Develop and execute comprehensive strategic plans for all gaming departments (slots, table games, poker) to achieve and exceed revenue targets and profitability goals.
  • Hold full P&L responsibility for gaming operations, meticulously analyzing financial statements, performance metrics, and daily operating reports to identify trends and implement corrective actions.
  • Continuously evaluate and optimize the gaming floor layout, product mix, and game placement to enhance player engagement and maximize revenue per unit.
  • Direct, mentor, and develop the entire gaming operations team, including shift managers, supervisors, and dealers, through effective coaching, performance management, and succession planning.
  • Establish and rigorously enforce all internal controls, policies, and procedures to ensure the absolute integrity of all gaming activities and protect company assets.
  • Guarantee strict compliance with all local, state, and federal gaming regulations, including but not limited to Title 31/BSA requirements, and act as a key liaison with gaming control boards.
  • Champion a culture of superior guest service, empowering team members to resolve guest issues promptly and effectively, and developing programs to enhance the overall player experience.
  • Analyze player data and betting trends in collaboration with the marketing and player development teams to create targeted promotions, tournaments, and events that drive traffic and increase player loyalty.
  • Oversee the management of table game operations, including monitoring game-hold percentages, managing game spreads, table limits, and ensuring proper game protection and surveillance.
  • Direct slot operations strategy, including machine purchasing and leasing recommendations, performance analysis, and the implementation of new slot technologies and systems.
  • Prepare and manage the annual departmental budget, including labor, capital expenditures, and operational expenses, ensuring fiscal discipline and resource optimization.
  • Lead departmental meetings to effectively communicate property-wide goals, policy changes, and daily operational priorities to the management team.
  • Assess and mitigate operational risks by reviewing security protocols, surveillance coverage, and incident reports, and by implementing preventative measures.
  • Foster a positive and high-morale work environment that encourages teamwork, accountability, and professional growth for all gaming team members.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, competitive landscapes, and new game titles to ensure the property remains a market leader.
  • Collaborate with the executive team to contribute to the overall vision and strategic direction of the casino resort property.

  • Contribute to the organization's broader data strategy and roadmap by providing insights on gaming-specific data needs and KPIs.
  • Collaborate with business units, particularly Marketing and Player Development, to translate data needs and campaign concepts into actionable operational requirements.
  • Participate in sprint planning and agile ceremonies for cross-departmental projects involving technology or analytics implementations.
  • Liaise with the Facilities and IT departments to coordinate floor moves, new equipment installation, and system upgrades with minimal disruption to operations.
  • Review and approve purchasing, labor scheduling, and resource allocation to ensure efficient departmental functioning within budgetary constraints.
  • Represent the casino at industry conferences, trade shows, and community events to build professional networks and enhance the property's reputation.

Required Skills & Competencies

Hard Skills (Technical)

  • Gaming Management Systems: Deep proficiency with casino management systems (e.g., Aristocrat Oasis 360, IGT Advantage, Light & Wonder ACSC) for player tracking and operational management.
  • Financial Acumen & P&L Management: Expertise in reading and interpreting financial statements, budget creation, variance analysis, and managing a multi-million dollar P&L.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Expert-level knowledge of gaming laws and regulations, particularly BSA/AML (Title 31) reporting and internal control standards.
