Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Greet all customers with a friendly and welcoming attitude, offering prompt assistance to create a positive and service-oriented atmosphere.
- Efficiently and safely dispense the correct grade and amount of gasoline, diesel, or other fuels into customer vehicles, following all company and government-mandated safety protocols.
- Accurately operate the point-of-sale (POS) terminal to process payments for fuel, merchandise, and services, including handling cash, credit/debit cards, and loyalty program transactions.
- Provide ancillary customer services upon request, such as washing vehicle windshields, checking engine oil levels, and verifying tire pressure, to enhance the customer experience.
- Actively maintain awareness of activities on the forecourt to prevent fuel theft, accidents, and unauthorized activities, ensuring a secure environment for both customers and staff.
- Respond to and resolve customer inquiries and minor complaints in a professional manner, escalating more complex issues to the shift supervisor or manager when necessary.
- Educate customers on current promotions, loyalty programs, and in-store specials to drive sales and enhance customer value.
- Manage traffic flow on the forecourt during peak hours to ensure vehicles can access pumps and exit the station safely and efficiently.
- Perform opening and closing duties for the forecourt and kiosk, including till reconciliation, preparing sales reports, and securing the premises.
- Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and environmental regulations, including proper handling of fuel spills and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Monitor fuel pump operation, reporting any malfunctions, error codes, or damage to management for immediate repair to minimize downtime.
- Maintain a clean and professional personal appearance, including wearing the company-provided uniform, as a representative of the brand.
Secondary Functions
- Consistently restock merchandise on shelves, in coolers, and at the front counter of the convenience store or kiosk, ensuring products are well-organized and fully available.
- Perform regular cleaning duties for the entire station, including sweeping the forecourt, cleaning pump islands, emptying trash receptacles, and maintaining restroom cleanliness.
- Conduct routine inventory counts for key convenience store items and report any discrepancies or low-stock levels to management for reordering.
- Assist with receiving and unpacking deliveries of merchandise, verifying delivery slips against the received goods, and stocking them in the appropriate storage areas.
- Prepare and maintain hot and cold beverage stations, including brewing coffee, cleaning equipment, and stocking supplies like cups, lids, and condiments.
- Monitor for and remove any safety hazards from customer-facing areas, such as spills, debris, or ice, to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Change and update outdoor signage for fuel prices and promotional offers as directed by management.
- Provide basic troubleshooting for car wash equipment and guide customers on its proper use, addressing minor operational issues as they arise.
