Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Perform intricate assembly of various parts and components in accordance with detailed engineering drawings, schematics, and build instructions.
- Utilize a wide range of hand tools, power tools, and pneumatic equipment (such as drills, wrenches, screwdrivers, and rivet guns) to complete assembly tasks accurately.
- Operate production line equipment and specialized machinery safely and efficiently to meet daily and weekly production targets.
- Conduct rigorous in-process and final quality inspections to ensure all products meet stringent specifications and company quality standards.
- Follow standardized work procedures and assembly methods to ensure consistency and repeatability in the manufacturing process.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve minor assembly issues or component misalignments, escalating complex problems to the team lead or supervisor for resolution.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area by consistently adhering to 5S principles (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain).
- Adhere strictly to all company safety protocols, procedures, and OSHA guidelines to maintain a hazard-free work environment.
- Accurately complete production logs, quality documentation, and other required paperwork to track progress, report output, and maintain traceability.
- Work collaboratively as part of an assembly team to achieve collective goals and ensure a smooth production flow.
- Monitor inventory levels of components at your workstation and communicate replenishment needs to material handlers to prevent line stoppages.
- Rotate through different tasks and stations on the assembly line as required by production schedules and team needs.
- Prepare and package finished products for shipment, ensuring they are protected and labeled correctly.
- Assist in the training of new team members on assembly procedures, safety practices, and quality expectations.
- Participate actively in continuous improvement initiatives by providing feedback and suggestions to enhance processes, quality, and efficiency.
- Perform basic preventative maintenance on tools and equipment to ensure they remain in good working order.
Secondary Functions
- Support ad-hoc assembly projects and prototype builds as directed by engineering or management.
- Assist the Quality Assurance team with root cause analysis of product defects or assembly failures.
- Collaborate with the materials team to conduct cycle counts and verify component inventory.
- Participate in team meetings, safety briefings, and training sessions to stay current on company policies and process changes.
