Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

Interpret and execute work from technical drawings, blueprints, architectural plans, and specifications to ensure project accuracy.
Perform a variety of masonry tasks, including laying bricks, blocks, and stone for walls, partitions, and other structures, as well as repointing and repair work.
Undertake first and second-fix carpentry, from erecting timber frames, stud walls, and roof trusses to installing doors, skirting boards, architraves, and kitchen units.
Carry out groundwork and foundation preparation, including digging trenches, laying drainage, and pouring/finishing concrete for slabs and footings.
Apply internal and external plastering and rendering finishes, including skimming, patching, and screeding to prepare surfaces for decoration.
Install and repair roofing systems, including tiling, slating, and fitting felt, battens, and lead flashing to ensure a watertight structure.
Perform wall and floor tiling with various materials like ceramic, porcelain, and natural stone, ensuring correct layout, adhesion, and grouting.
Manage basic plumbing tasks, such as installing sanitary ware, running pipework for hot and cold water supplies, and connecting drainage.
Execute a range of painting and decorating duties, including surface preparation, priming, and applying paint, wallpaper, or other finishes to a high standard.
