Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Develop and execute comprehensive engineering project plans, defining scope, goals, deliverables, resources, and timelines in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
  • Design, model, and analyze complex systems, structures, or components using CAD/CAE software and applying fundamental engineering principles across multiple disciplines.
  • Lead the technical evaluation and selection of materials, components, and equipment, ensuring they meet performance specifications, quality standards, and cost targets.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and technical investigations for new projects or proposed modifications to existing systems, providing detailed reports and recommendations.
  • Prepare, review, and approve detailed engineering drawings, specifications, technical reports, and other documentation required for fabrication, construction, or implementation.
  • Manage and oversee the prototyping, testing, and validation phases of projects, developing test plans and analyzing data to verify performance and reliability.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues that arise during design, development, or operation, performing root cause analysis and implementing effective corrective actions.
  • Ensure all engineering designs and projects comply with applicable industry codes, safety standards (e.g., OSHA, ISO), and government regulations.
  • Coordinate and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, quality assurance, procurement, and external vendors, to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Provide ongoing technical support and guidance for facility operations, maintenance activities, and capital improvement projects.
  • Develop and manage project budgets, track expenditures, and prepare cost estimates for engineering projects, ensuring financial objectives are met.
  • Perform detailed engineering calculations and simulations (e.g., Finite Element Analysis (FEA), Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD)) to predict and optimize system performance.
  • Spearhead continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance processes, improve efficiency, reduce costs, and increase product or system quality.
  • Author and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including design history files, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and maintenance manuals.
  • Evaluate existing infrastructure, systems, and equipment to assess their condition, capacity, and lifecycle, recommending upgrades or replacements as needed.
  • Prepare and present technical findings, project status updates, and strategic recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences, including executive leadership.
  • Serve as the primary technical point of contact for clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies, effectively managing relationships and communications.
  • Conduct risk assessments for engineering projects and develop mitigation strategies to minimize potential impacts on safety, schedule, and budget.
  • Mentor junior engineers and technical staff, providing training, guidance, and support to foster their professional development.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in general engineering to drive innovation and maintain a competitive edge.
  • Manage subcontractor and vendor performance, including reviewing submittals, overseeing on-site work, and verifying contract compliance.

Required Skills & Competencies

Hard Skills (Technical)

  • CAD/CAE Software: Proficiency in 2D/3D design and analysis tools such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA, or similar.
  • Project Management Software: Experience with tools like MS Project, Jira, or Asana for planning, tracking, and reporting.
  • Finite Element Analysis (FEA): Solid understanding of FEA principles and experience with software like ANSYS or Abaqus.
  • Programming/Scripting: Competency in languages such as Python, MATLAB, or LabVIEW for data analysis, simulation, and automation.

Educational Background

Minimum Education:
