Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Perform material handling duties, including the loading and unloading of trucks, and transporting materials to designated work areas using hand trucks, pallet jacks, or other manual equipment.
  • Maintain the cleanliness, organization, and safety of the worksite by sweeping floors, disposing of trash and debris, and arranging tools and materials in their proper storage locations.
  • Assist skilled tradespeople and technicians by carrying tools, preparing materials, cleaning equipment, and performing other supportive tasks as directed.
  • Operate basic hand and power tools under supervision to assist with assembly, disassembly, or minor repair tasks.
  • Monitor inventory levels of common supplies and materials, reporting any shortages to the supervisor to ensure continuous availability.
  • Perform basic groundskeeping and exterior maintenance tasks, such as clearing walkways, managing waste receptacles, and assisting with seasonal clean-up efforts.
  • Sort, pack, and prepare goods for shipment, ensuring proper labeling, packaging, and adherence to shipping specifications.
  • Follow all established company safety protocols and procedures, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), to foster a secure working environment.
  • Act as a spotter for equipment operators, ensuring clear pathways and alerting them to potential hazards to prevent accidents.
  • Clean and prepare job sites, including setting up and taking down scaffolding, barriers, and other temporary structures.
  • Receive and process incoming stock and materials, verifying items against shipping documents and reporting any discrepancies.
  • Provide general support during peak operational periods, flexing between departments and tasks to meet business demands.
  • Perform routine quality checks on finished products or assembled parts to identify obvious defects and report them to quality control personnel.
  • Assist in the setup and operation of simple production machinery, including feeding materials or off-loading finished products.

Secondary Functions

  • Run errands between departments, delivering documents, parts, or messages to facilitate smooth and timely communication and workflow.
  • Assist with basic administrative tasks, such as filing work orders, logging material usage, or making simple data entries into a tracking system.
